But it was just a social engineering project!

Tribe fandom......we're  small, we're generally quiet, and we usually keep our crazies out of the public eye.  But this one is too good to pass by and not share.

Meet *Kiri*, aka Lady_D...aka LadyDakota...aka Dreama.  Shes a long time tribe fan with the rep in the fandom for being a very big (and rather bad) liar.  She's been caught on lies in regards to family members dying, 2 husbands dying, children dying, being a single mother, and her various careers, etc.  The fans have pretty much gotten tired of her and her lies.  So they call her out quite frequently.

But guess what?  She admits she lied to everyone!  But its was all some big social engineering project and shes bored with the fandom and official boards now.

To quote user emeraldeyes, who sums up the crazy of this 20 year old pretty well on page 6 of the thread:  But it's all true! We are not supposed to question this because it all makes perfect sense, natch.  Two babies, one ex-husband, one dead, one huge divorce settlement, two dogs, a racoon, a big house and an army career. and a social scientist. She truely is an inspiration to me.

ETA: More of Kiri's uniqueness.

-Claimed she was a Captain (O-3) in the US Army, and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant (O-1) before completing officer canddiate school. Keep in mind that she is 20 years old. Her promotion to Captain would've violated good sense and federal laws which require certain number of years in service before each promotion.

-Claimed she basically went through high school and college concurrently, graduating from high school at 16 and getting her nursing degree (a very demanding, 4-year degree) at 17.

-Claimed to have married a guy who abused her, whom she later divorced and sent him to prison (via some unspecified way), but not before cheating on him with her "one true love" who impregnated her.

-Claimed Baby Daddy was killed in Iraq. Fortunately, he left $400,000 for their love child in trust, and a further quarter of a million (at least) for her care.

-Claimed to have married a second guy, again who she didn't love, and quickly divorced him to take a lot of his money too.

-Claimed to have had a tryst with her first ex-husband, after divorcing the second, who impregnated her again.

-Claimed to have been svelt and fit, despite really being visibly fat. Has written this off as a "baby belly" (...and cheeks...) despite having conceived less than a month previous.

-Claims to have been in league with the greatest hackers of our age, some of whom have also appeared on this board (sharing her identical IP address, no less). Surprisingly for such tremendous hackers, none of these folks even knew what telnet was.

-Claims to have travelled the world, visiting Germany, Israel, etc... despite being a supposed full time nurse in the US Army who nonetheless finds time to spend on Eyeboards the whole day.

-Claims to live (simultaneously) in several different cities/states, depending on when you catch her.

-Claims to own a BMW, which she bought on a whim, and a Supra which she regularly street races.

*raises hand* I vote that anyone who claims wankery as a "social experiment" should be tied up and soundly beaten about the head and shoulders with the APA Style Manual. Or just made to read the damn thing, which is punishment enough (I'd take the beating, personally).

I'm leaving, by the way. Sex is hawt. And I'll be staying for Graphics and Plots and Characters. And worldview. Leaving now! Honestly!"

On the second page, she is already back-tracking. Oh..I am staying for graphics! Oh, I am staying for characters and plots...OH!

Way to leave a fandom.

I miss The Tribe. I haven't watched it in about a year and a half. :(

I'm highly amused by the oh-so-dramatic: 'Anyways everyone, I just want to say goodbye and good luck to you all in life.', considering this post was made in May and apparently as of yesterday she was still replying to the post.

Surprise, surprise.

Someone like that popped up in ABJD fandom recently, only after putting her badly-mispelled foot in her not-terribly-bright mouth once too often, she claimed to be trolling to produce data for her psychology paper.

When called on it, she retreated to the excuse that she was really this guy named Matt who had completely stolen the online identity of this idiotic woman to do 'his' trolling. Including using her computer to do it.

ABJD fandom responded with a resounding 'Uh huh', accompanied by image macros, lesbian sex, and tea.

- I'm pretending my lies were some sort of experiment.
- Illuminarch caught me out
- He beat my ass for days, I pretended I was still in control of the situation
- I cried a little
- I have no idea what social engineering is, behold my BS explanation.

This made me laugh more than anything else becasue I fall into the category of people who hate to read that much batshit in a single sitting so they need bullet-points. I don't even get how being a liar on the internet ties in with social engineering aside from perfecting how to be an ass. As for psychology- a professional or person studying to be a professional worth their salt would not usually use their knowledge to hurt people so I can believe she's a dumbass who has read a magazine or two on it.

I'm hoping someone actually taking psychology courses will enlighten me further on this one, but keeping in mind that I am an ISP tech, we're taught that social engineering's getting information for illicit purposes. Is the psychiatric variant different?

Out of all her lies, I have to say this is the one best told (though still obviously false). I know someone who is apparently completing her high school and college at the same time. I'm not sure exactly how it works because she's anything but helpful at explaining it, so I think she just earns college credit at the same time as finishing high school... like university prep or something.

Though you certainly can't apply for college without having a high school diploma... so maybe I've just confused myself here.

Why do all liars, when caught, use 'social experiment' as a bail out plan?

I remember that girl (glitter something) who asked for donations for that injured cat also used the same term.
