Howdy, folks. I'm here to tell a story of a lovely little place called the_blank_slate and a little girl named jainieg who recently got voted off the island.

Bear in mind, I think before today I only heard of the_blank_slate once, when I think I stumbled across the journal for their Artemis Fowl. I think the proper name for it is "Tabula Rasa," and it's sort of like LOST or "Survivor," what with the whole mysteriously stranded on a deserted or not-so-deserted island feel going on.

Anyway, so jainieg plays Shane from The L Word over at Tabula Rasa, and all is sunshine and rainbows and excessive melodrama (because, apparently, excessive melodrama follows Shane around like a little lost puppy begging for its pettings), until . . . well, I'm not sure, really, but there's something about the excessive melodrama being way too excessive for several other players' tastes. Apparently, the complaints were enough to bring together all of the mods for Tabula Rasa, and they descended, hordelike, upon poor unsuspecting jainieg, or at least, that's how she took it.

The OP is wanky enough all on its own, really. Choice bits include (FYI, the "Me"s in the quoted text are not me, they are jainieg - I'm just too lazy to replace them):

Barely into the conversation between the OP and the mods, we have the "it's a personal vendetta!" card being played:

V: From what our own experience with the canon suggests, and from the complaints of other muns, we simply can't agree with you. I know this is a terrible conversation to have to have, and it's unpleasant to ever need to question a mun.
Me: Okay, whoa.
V: about characterization. We wouldn't ask you here if we didn't feel we had reason.

Me: And I know she has issues with me, so I refuse to accept any statement in regards to MY CHARACTERIZATION of my character.

One can be forgiven for assuming that even if jainieg is being a bit over-the-top with her protestations that A is so at fault, it's safe to say that it doesn't take her very long afterwards to cross the line into complete batshit loco territory:

Me: Well, I'm sorry, but that's my choice.
Me: not yours.
Me: She's my character.
Me: You don't get to dictate to me as a mod what my character does.
A: Ah, but it is our game.
V: Then I'm afraid we will have to ask you to remove yourself from the game.
Me: You cannot ask me to do that.
Me: I will make SUCH a stink, you will have never heard the likes of it before, I guarantee you.
A: We just did.
A: Have fun.
V: You astound me, a bit.

It's kind of beautiful that she thinks threats will work when she's outnumbered five to one, and especially when all five of the people she's threatening are moderators.

Of course, jainieg proceeds to pull the "It's my character, I'll wank if I want to!" card, and as expected, rolls a natural 1:

Me: And deny my application from another character from [my character's same canon] because it might affect [my primary char's] development. Who are you to say?! You're not her mun! I am!
V: I'm sorry, but this is your noticing of banning. I truly wish you had shown a little more interest in your own preservation, but none of us can possible condone such terrible behavior.
Me: What, not allowing myself to be pushed aroudn?
Me: And be dictated to about how I play my own character?
Me: Who, I will have you know, I have been playing for nearly 3 years.
Me: Would any of you put up with that? Being told how to play your character? I think not.
V: When enough other muns complain, we take action. Again, I'm sorry we could reach no compromise.
Me: There's no compromise to reach. She's my character. Characterization shouldn't be a question of majority rules.
Me: A player shouldn't have to compromise her character or characterization.
J: when the character is taking away from the quality of the game and enjoyment of other muns, it becomes a concern.

The OP seems to have a slight problem comprehending basic english:

And as if that wasn't the crowning gem of wank in an already wanky post, we get bonus "I KNOW YOU ARE, BUT WHAT AM I?" finger-pointing, couresty of "S" and the OP:

The post is really enough to earn admission into the annals of wank history, but the comments are like icing on an already-wank-filled cake. Just the first few comments alone are worth the price of admission.

You were the one who was belligerent, you were the one who refused to listen, you were the one who threatened to 'raise a stink' if you didn't get your way.

jainieg: I will have you know that I only just experienced this situation and I am still terribly stunned and upset by it. I've also been going through an exceedingly stressful time in my life, as I mentioned at the top of the post. I believe myself to be an exceptional role-player and have posted here frequently reporting on bad rp. I don't flip out without cause.

jainieg: Actually, in a game of a thousand members, of all the most active ones? Barely four or five of them had seen the show, that I know of. 'Cause it's seriously not that popular, yet. It's still very much a fledgling fandom online.

Originally, when I started writing this up, the OP had a biiiig, blatant LINK pointing VERY OBVIOUSLY right at the_blank_slate and wasn't making any moves towards hiding it. Several comments very politely pointed out to her that she was being a big bitch for doing so, and the link is now gone, but not before everyone and their blind mother saw it and had to mention it in a comment.

cluudle: Point the first: any argument that includes 'you can't do that! I'll tell!' loses validity rather - well, rather fast.

Point the second: that you actually went and told after that, well, that's a whole new level of special.

Point the third: Venting is very well. Linking to the community in question is not. That's crass and being a dramallama. I would suggest that if you want to be taken seriously, you might consider removing the link and simply posting about how frustrating these mods were.

makeshyft has to win some kind of award for how much they miss the point with this comment (unless the missing the point is intentional, in which case it's still hilarious, just intentionally so): Venting on BadRP is kinda like suicide or masterbation..

And then, at the end, it's some kind of wank extravaganza, as deathstardisco stomps in with waders on and decides since she just went through something similar she's got every right to tell [Bad username: jainieg"] where to stick it, and jainieg gets petulant and shovy right back, and oh, it's all so immature and bitchy, I think I'm in love.

jainieg: Fuck you, you self-important ass. You obviously haven't read any of my other comments that go into the backstory about this whole situation. One of the mods was biased unfairly against me because she has no concept of IC/OOC.

I know the game doesn't revolve around me and I'm not expecting it to, but what you don't realize -- because you'd much rather try to take me down a peg rather than read and attempt to comprehend the full scope of what's going on here -- is that my character was alienated and was playing with two other characters and that was it. She was NOT a distraction, she was not a nuisance to others, she was not dramawhoring all over the place. In point of fact? I hadn't actually posted anything with her in four days when this whole thing went down. The only one who felt I was being a disruptive influence was mod A, because my character was no longer involved with hers.

For one, I don't really feel like weeding through the comments of you repeating yourself over and over and refusing to listen to the people who, horror of horrors, disagree with you on the fact that the mods were out to get you. You say one of the mods -- but I can see all of them up there telling you that 1: This has nothing to do with her, and 2: None of them are happy with how you play. A doesn't even -talk- very much during the course of the conversation. So, going with logic, here, I'm more inclined to believe that what they're saying is true, than what you're presenting me with, which is "Mod A brainwashed the other mods and the whole game to hate me, OH NOES D:".

. . . seriously, I have no idea what to do about that, but I honestly didn't intend to report something that's already been wanked, so if the mods say I should take it down, I will.

Bride of Edit: Apparently jainieg really doesn't like being told she's wrong, because as beanarie helpfully points out right here in a reaction rant, comments have been disabled. Guess that'll show us for daring to disagree with her opinion of the situation, won't it!
