Does anyone do anything at Milliways except wank? Like order drinks?
I am OFFENDED. Practically my college motto, there.

Why?

Well, the OP doesn't go into details but we get told in a comment that it's because Claire from Heroes entered Milliways while only in a towel.

Cue [info]metaphor trying not to cry, [info]daniidebrabant internet lawyering about child porn and minors, [info]oh_envy jumping in to point out Heroes has graphic gore, and [info]becky_h saying there's no actual kid being hurt so everyone stop overreacting. Because otherwise, [info]dieinahole's dangerous Nuke Sequence's being tripped would have killed us all.

[info]birdseyeview wants to know why nobody thinks of the bisexuals people that weren't offended.

And then finally, [info]sockarooni pops up to make an 'ad homimem attack' that informs people the player in question is a skeeze and talks about his sexual fantasies in a teen-friendly enviroment. Which sheds a whole new light on everything so far to the point that [info]becky_h backs down.

Oh, and just noticed the OP's location is listed as "The Valley of dispair with my anti-wank (hopefully) rifle". Uh-huh.

Edit: Comments from [info]darksunlight aka Mitch make it seem like he's the person the OP is complaining about and according to [info]piobaireachd, they'd practically started a poll on how long it would be before something like that happened, though 'they' is unspecified and it seems to be a complaint about a general trend rather than whoever plays Claire and explains that comment here in a comment to this post. And hey, look, spelling lessons!

[info]viridian tosses in her two cents, and explains herself a little further in comments to this post.

And we have a reaction post in the journal of Claire's player informing us we're all crazy because it's only fiction, while [info]sepiamagpie informs us in comments to this post that Mitch smells -- or probably not, but he's definitely part of the skeevy squad.

Edit II: IC reactions! One per link. Or, IC in the sense that two other muns pull the towel stunt, kindly reported to us by [info]piobaireachd. And two other people get a friend here on JF to toss in their two cents about Mitch's skeeviness. And [info]muffinbutt, weighs in on the game rules concerning how the towel-scene would have happened, speaking from the point of authority as 'a current Bar Mod, Co-Barman, and former game mod'.

Edit III: It's the wank that keeps on giving and got duked out in comments over here! The comment in which [info]piobaireachd pointed out the IC reactions is jumped upon by a self-proclaimed Towel'd Mun and they have a little chat about disliking players versus characters and the difference between drama whoring that creates more work for mods and a good, sarcastic reaction.

Edit IV: Annnd now [info]anonon who IDs his/herself as the other Towel'd Mun, jumps in to give her side of the argument, also in comments to this post. I'm starting to feel like it should be getting quoted over on [info]wankitywank by this point.

A friend of mine, [info]foozled_up from LJ, has given me permission to share this from a post (as well as her name):

"Mitch is like the skeevy uncle who hangs around family parties, saying 'Hey, pretty little girl' with a lecherous smile. The one who makes you feel ever so uncomfortable, but you don't want to tell anyone because maybe it's just you. There are countless things that I could have and should have reported him to the mods about, honestly. I've been sexually hit on by him oocly and icly, and made far uncomfortable to the point that I've learned to Avoid His Presence. A huge part of why I don't play DC anymore? Yeah. I wanted to get away from him, and he made it rather impossible."

That seems to fit pretty nicely with what Sep's saying.

I'll say here what I said to her on LJ. She should have told the mods. It would have been handled.

Which she acknowledges, and she doesn't blame you for not magically knowing. (If she did, I wouldn't have posted her comments here, since that wouldn't be cool.) I used to play at Milliways, and I remember you guys as being approachable and fair. This is about frustration with a player, not the game or its mods.

Yeah, I know. We had a conversation at my LJ after this. Thanks for playing go-between though. :)

No problem. :) I felt she (and her friend, whose comments I'll be posting in a second) ought to have their say to round out discussion a bit, and with anon commenting turned off, I figured I was their best chance. I'm definitely not looking to cast aspersions on the game or anyone except the guy in discussion, who seems to be asking for it.

It's turned on now, btw.

And, hey, never thought you were. Like any large game it has its problems, but I find that they're outweighed by the fun I have.

Oh, it is? Cool. (Ha, should have read this comment before I posted again. Oh, well.)

Yeah, I loved Milliways while I was there, and tried to come back after I'd wandered off, but I'm in a game that takes up so much of my RP energy that I found I just didn't have any left to spare. I'm impressed that it's still running with, what, four mods and a zillion players.

Three mods! I retired, and they're choosing a replacement now. They are brave souls.

[info]admiral_chowder saw that I'd posted this and asked me to add her comments to the discussion. She's a friend of [info]foozled_up, so I agreed. Both of them would have posted on their own behalf if anon commenting were on. I'm using my own judgment on this and trying to add to the discussion, not throw fuel on the wankfire. I hope there's a difference. ;)

"While I've not had an OOC or IC run-in with Mitch as of yet, it's not right that I should have to be afraid that I'm going to. There are some pups, namely my female one (Sally Po), that I haven't put into the bar in a long time because I'm honestly worried that he's going to show up, propositions and persistence in tow. I'm even worried about some of my male ones, hence their absence. If his characters have sex with willing characters in-bar that's his (and the other mun's) choice, but when he starts attempting OOC sexual interaction or continues unwanted IC interaction because a character or even their mun is a bit nervous about openly saying NO!, or because they have said it and he just can't take no for an answer, then that's not acceptable.

For people to be uncomfortable about a mun because they can link his IC gameplay to his OOC personality (or online persona if you'd rather, it's his public face on the web no matter what the lable is), and for them to be afraid to post a character in because of the chance that they will have to deal with him, is a disruption of gameplay. Throw in the other stuff, and my level of distaste and dislike just skyrockets. The guy is creepy, his behaviour inappropriate, and he's taking things to extreme and unacceptable degrees."

So, translated that tl:dr boils down to:

"I've never had IC or OOC contact with this towel-person, but I'M SCARED HE'LL COME GET ME IN MY SLEEP!"

Bitch please, it's the internet. Unless you've posted your RL contact-info online, no one can come get you. Even if a player is being creepy, you can always block him/her. Scared on the intertubes? Idiot

Edited these into the wank report, thanks for sharing. And nice analogy with the skeevy uncle there.
