ZOMG Cosplaying rulez are serious bizness!
So, as we all know, the cosplay.com forums are a breeding ground for wank. This one in particular starts with HanakoWings posting a poll asking if there should be "rulez" for cosplay. The original post was apparently quite flamey (now bahleeted, boo), which apparently included some items like "no ghetto cosplay", "don't cosplay someone of another race/gender", and "post pics of bad cosplay here." This incites some isolated wank from people basically saying "cosplay = fun...no rules necessary."

Highlights of HanakoWings' responses include:
"ZOMG you should've known that I was kidding because I said 'rulez' not 'rules'!"
"Don't cosplay a 6 foot tall character if you're 4 feet tall"
Obligatory "I'm never posting here again cuz u all think I'm a bitch" rant, complete with "ZOMG I'm gunna be a psychologist, so here's my analysis of all you freaks" section.
"Why are you bitching at me if you haven't voted in the poll???"
"I'll only tell you suck on teh intarweb...never in person!"

No kidding. I don't think I've ever cosplayed an actual girl before. Guys who dress like girls, sure, but I doubt that counts.

I'm also hung up on the cosplaying someone of another race rule. Considering all the Japanese cosplayers cosplaying characters who are not in fact Japanese or Asian, and all the people here who may be white coplaying characters who are Asian, and considering many other people cosplaying characters of other races...

Between those two rules huge portions of cosplay would be eliminated.

*waits for someone to say "a plan with no drawbacks."

OMG LOL. "IT" and "ID" are not exactly interchangeable, and you'd think someone who'd been through even intro psych would know that, since it would undoubtedly be on the exams.

Actually, shouldn't the theory go that people who listen too much to their Id would be more likely to be psychotic than those who listen to their Ego or Superego, because the Id has no self-control or sense of morality?

Basically, "I disagree, rulez are for losser." And HanakoWings is the biggest losser in that thread.

And what is she talking about in this post, when she says insomnia periods? "I'm just one of those people that are ana....mean like that." Is she trying to say she's anorexic, or annoying?

But, but, I have a time-honored tradition of belonging to large masquerade entries with exactly one actual guy! Last year it was Pirates of the Caribbean [guy = Barbossa], the year before Firefly [guy = Mal], and before that LOTR [guy = Aragorn]. I guess I should tell my friends they all have to dress up like-- ick-- *girls* now. :(

Considering most anime guys look like girls anyway, who cares if a girl plays them! Personally I think that usually works out pretty well. Now guys dresses as girls...can work but on very rare occassion
