If it's too good to be true...
I went over to Gamefaqs.com to look for some info on Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix, and I see:

Someone claiming that he got the "retail" copy of the game early, and is willing to answer questions!

Quite naturally, people jump on this, but lots of people are also skeptical. Much as I wanted to believe "SaWa", I couldn't bring myself to. The 14 page(and counting) long thread starts out with Q/A, but it ends with people simply not believing him when he failed to provide proof that he actually had the game(they wanted a picture). Now people feel stupid. Still, all this is in one day, so who knows? Maybe SaWa really does have the game, but I doubt it. Either way, I don't think that thread will be dead any time soon.

Edit: Oh DAMN! It ended up "moderated", or deleted, but this new post comes from SaWa:

So far people aren't so forgiving. Can't say I blame them.

Xigbar, being the seccond eldest member of the org. was the closest one to Xehanort while he was still whole. He seemingly knows things about him that nobody else does.

Clearly, they just want us to write Xigbar/Xemnas smut.

While it's entirely possible to get games earlier than the release date, seeing as I managed to get a PAL copy of KHII about a month before it came out over here, the fact that SaWa's copy is in English really throws me. Now, maybe if it was in Japanese I'd be more inclined to believe them, but... I doubt it.

They're releasing a Final Mix in America? And it comes with Chain of Memories in 3D? How was I not aware of this?

Then again, I still haven't gotten around to KH:2-normal.

If I'm thinking correctly, we're currently campaigning for KH2: FM /CM:RC to be released in America, and we've heard that it's "favourable", but since it hasn't even been released in Japan yet, we might have to wait a few more years.

I'm thinking he pirated it, and wanted to share the good news without admitting that he did a no-no. There's a "Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix" out on certain P2P networks, for what it's worth.

To the best of my knowledge, no. Some emulators allow you to play certain parts of certain PS2 games, but there isn't one that truly works all the time.
Maybe I'm missing something. Was this guy claiming to play it through an emulator?

You can, however, burn a pirated game to a DVD, stick it in a chipped PS2 and hope it plays right the whole way through.

Yea, I figured something like that would be possible because I was given some for the PSX. Just that I find it hard to believe that KH2: Final Mix would be available on a P2P anywhere.

SquareEnix lets everything leak, man. Advent Children was leaked a week before its release. Final Fantasy XII was leaked a week or so before its release.

At this point, I am 90% sure they do it on purpose.
