azewewish is very, very angry the people in her fandom keep writing a pairing she doesn't like, even though she keeps telling them she doesn't like it. Evidently the scroll function on her mouse is broken and/or people are forcing her at gunpoint to read all this horrible, rage-inducing fic, because she's had all she can take and she can't take it no more!

- And speaking of people needing to step away from the crackpipe, some, I dunno, discussion was going around my flist about who tops in the imaginary twu-wuv relationship that Sam & Dean supposedly have, and, uh, just. No. How about neither of them because they're not fucking each other? *beams* I mean, you know, I get that they're pretty boys & we ALL love the pretty boys fucking, but, you know, there are a MILLION other ways to resolve tension that have nothing to do with sex and there are a MILLION ways to express love and devotion to someone that DON'T involve lube and sloppy blowjobs. Seriously, think about most of the relationships you have with your family & friends & loved ones. And really? Dean would rather shoot himself than even touch Sam's dick. And, if some freaky, bad 'fuck or die' scenario WERE to happen? He'd kill them both, because doing it would kill him anyway.

Because a large parts of her friends list consists of Wincest fans, unsurprisingly there is some polite and mild dissent. glendaglamazon points out that

It's not that I'm a tinhat, it's just that what is the point of raping canon in the ass in order to write the really hot sex when you CAN just go to the RP side of things if you want that fic? I mean, y'know, if you want to write Jared & Jensen fucking, WRITE it. But don't tell me that the Winchester brothers are fucking because it goes against every basic tenent of the show & the canon of it. Same with Tami/Tim. I've never agreed with the entire idea of turning the characters into people they're clearly not in order to write a really hot pairing. *shrugs* If it's not THERE leaping out at me, I don't see it. And I don't want it shoved down my throat all the time.

and further still, when glendaglamazon mentions that not everyone sees subtext for all of azewewish's preferred pairings:

So, to answer your question, yes, there is something inherent in the interactions between Hoot & Eversmann in the movie that make me think there could be something there. That's called SUBTEXT & it's what we base our shiny, slashy fandoms on ...

Yes, we are ALL writing AUs, no, most of us don't truly think the characters or boys are fucking. That's why it's subtext.

And my stance on Wincest, as you should well know, has NOTHING to do with the incest part. It has to do with Dean & Sam's relationship on the screen and how there is nothing remotely sexual about it & how the tension between them isn't remotely sexual & how most people in this fandom that write it don't CARE that it goes against every principle that the Winchester boys hold dear, because, hey, they'd be hot together & brothers fucking is WAY hot.

what annoys me and will continue to annoy me (and this annoyed me about the Harry/Draco pairing too) is that the 'text' doesn't support the subtext. Yet, people seem to blithely ignore that, just to get to the hot, drrrty-wrong sex.

It's nice to know that if one person doesn't see subtext, it doesn't exist and anyone who reads or writes it is a horrible disgusting raper of canon who shoves their perversion into everyone else's face, isn't it? If only we could all learn from azewewish and only write the pairings she approves of, the world would be a better place.
