She knows she's not a real costumed vigilante, right?
The LJ community for City of Heroes, a MMORPG where you play as a tights-and-capes hero rather than a chainmail-and-swords hero, has burst into flames. Yay!

An idea is hatched for a real-life meetup. As no one immediately steps forward to take control of the planning, people begin to do various things without asking others. On one side we have [info]aufheben and [info]virdilak, on the other [info]tanyad and...everyone else?

TanyaD makes a few suggestions, to which Aufheben agrees, but mentions something about letting Lighthouse, the Community Relations Manager for the game, know about it. Big mistake.

What starts with TanyaD disagreeing with Aufheben descends into Virdilak calling TanyaD insane and TanyaD threatening to kick Virdilak's ass at the meetup. Aufheben adds the finishing touches to the wank, making a whole new post to let everyone know what TanyaD said. People rush to his support...

...or would, if he wasn't well known in the community for shitstirring. His last trick, which I can't be bothered to find, involved asking for someone to be removed from the community for criticising a post he made on the (completely unrelated) official forums.

For extra fun, watch community mod [info]bittercupojoe flail ineffectually and hand out warnings like candy. He may get pissed off with the newest post, however, so enjoy this wank while you can. Posts are likely to be nerfed screened or deleted.

ETA: Don't miss [info]jetwolf's account of a previous wank from the same community. City of Heroes: we wank as much as WoW, but we delete it all when we're done.

You're in luck, I did a write-up for a friend in e-mail. I'll abbreviate though, because kwsapphire makes me want to gouge out my own eyeballs with a nail file so I carried on a bit.

Her first post was about a PUG experience she'd had the day before. For some unknown reason (read: mass validation and kudos on her brilliant wit), she posted all about it some 20 hours after the fact. The summation of the experience was that the leader didn't attend to her every statement, so she kept aggroing groups and getting herself killed. When he told her to stop she said that she'd rather die interestingly than win boringly. When he questioned her on that, she repeated "Interesting > Boring". So he kicked her. The subject of her PUG post was "Correct me of I'm wrong."

People (me included) did.

Because she didn't actually want people to say anything but "Yes you are completely right and we all love you so much you mad creative genius you!", she felt the need to unsolicitedly bring it all up again in the most annoyingly passive-aggressive way possible TWO DAYS LATER. She had mentioned some quote in her first post (basically the whole "Interesting death better than boring win"), and the second post was the full quote and little else.

Nobody was fooled though. Tying back into this wank report, Aufheben was his caustic usual self, but KW got preemptively bitchy with him. She was even worse to whoever it is that has the pencil-drawn fanart icon of two people making out (the one who plays with Wylde, I forget the name). S/he said s/he didn't agree, and KW replied with, essentially, "And this is why I would never play with you and why your opinions are totally meaningless in every way possible."

As you can imagine, it just got worse from there. As I was gathering up the juicy details, she deleted all the comments and the contents of the second sig-quote post. Instead, she said something to the effect of, "Since everyone else can post about random topics whenever they want, I thought I'd talk about the nature of roleplaying and a lot of other stuff that sounds really deep but clearly wasn't the intention behind why I resurrected an old dead conversation in a grotesquely irritating way. But obviously I can't. Waaaah. BAH-LEET." Then later she bahleeted even that post, as well as the original PUG one.

....and that was my abbreviated version.

Well, you did ask. :P
