A friend brought this very special American Girl wank to my attention, and thought it was worth sharing. The following is her write-up:

Did you ever have a favorite toy that someone told you just wasn't good enough if it wasn't a real 'insert brand name here' toy? Oneofthosehorriblemoms is on a *crusade* to let everyone know that American Girl Place in NYC allows its stylists (yes, stylists for doll hair...comedy gold in and of itself I'm sure) to inform poor, underpriveleged girls that their Target brand dollies aren't real and not worth loving.

She starts with a scathing, detailed rendition of her lovely daughter "Etta's" treatment at American Girl Place by both a stylist and several upperclass women waiting for their pampered darlings. Oneofthosehorriblemoms claims not to have been there, but her exact quotes and descriptions are awfully well remembered by a six year old.

Commenters flock to the support of the brave, kind hearted Etta and her selfless mother, offering to never buy another piece of American Girl merchandise and to dispose of the items their children already owned. Oneofthosehorriblemoms must have felt vindicated with the interwebz outpouring of support...until the dissenters arrived. 'Why hasn't American Girl corporate heard of this incident?", they inquired, but our stalwart OP refused to answer beyond deleting 'inappropriate' comments.

Hm...so real or well thought out pity plea on "teh internetz"? We'll give you a free dolly hairstyle for the answer!
