Elf Only Wank
So, Sortelli has decided to end Elf Only Inn. A shame, but he was getting a little wanky with it, so probably better that he does that than drag it on and on until he turns into a ranting, whining dip. ^.^
Of course, what webcomic ending would be complete without memorial posts in the forum? Or even better, memorial posts that result in ego circle-jerks? ^.^
But, of course, there's always someone who's upset. And, of course, everyone immediately jumps forward to tell said someone that they are the most insignificant speck and no one could care less about their feelings. That's where the wank is at, people, dig in! It's all there, people posing that they're inflicting harm, promising that if the comic ever restarts he won't be allowed to read it, etc. (I'd link individual replies, I really would, but this forum doesn't have that option.)
Viva la wank!
(For myself, I too am a little upset at one of my favorite webcomics' extremely abrupt end, but I probably should have seen it coming, and like I said, better it do that than turning into utter crap.)

Well, in all fairness there's always somebody going to be upset when a major, popular comic comes to an end. But if no one ever ended their online comics (or abandoned them due to lack of interest), the entire internet comics scene would turn into what you see in the newspapers. 95% Xeroxed talking heads whose only reason to go on living is to sell stuff, and 5% genuinely good/funny/relevant stuff that your local newspaper won't run anyway because it could be "offensive".

Do you people want an internet version of "Cathy"?! Or "Family Circus"?!

Actually, I think what really makes the wank there is the whole "YOU RIUNED MAH LIFE" accusation there, without any acknowledgement that yeah, maybe the artist knows what he's doing, and maybe there will be other webcomics to follow.

Wank on, you crazy diamonds.

Thus, why I said, like, twice that it was better he end it now than drag it on when he didn't really want to. ^^;;

Well, I wasn't talking about you in specific, just the board that you linked to. It's pretty clear from your post that you aren't on the "BOO HOO I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOUUUU!" bandwagon. At least, not to the wanky "Come back or I'll hunt you down and force you to continue the comic!" extent. ^^

Well, one of the reasons I loved EOI so much was that it was much in the same spirit as this community. Using humor to needle bad RPers or RPing cliches, instead of yet another gaming comic going over the same tired old jokes until they're all stealing from each other.

Eh, I know Josh. (Or did, anyway, it's been a long time since we've spoken, but we used to RP together at Ethereal-Realms.) I respect his decision. *Shrug*

well, damnit. I only found that comic through a link a few weeks ago and it's ending already?

Could be worst. I've discovered the webcomics of one artist who has really cute art, and the stories are really interesting, but she has them planned in these nice, TINY little arcs to end them without actually wrapping up any loose threads or anything, so she can rush them into easily-done book releases. It starts getting a little annoying when she starts talking about ending a comic when most webcomicers would barely have considered the comic STARTED.
