Autobots! Transform and Bitch Incessantly!
Botcon is the big Transformers convention put on by the Fun Publishings, offical collectors club. Each year they release a special set of figures for the con.

Well, every year it's a mad dash to get the special set from their website and not suprsingly the highly sought after con exculsives sells out very quickly.

And a cry goes out...

The Phazer, seems to think having your product sell out is a bad business model

In fact, He's so upset he's saying it's time to get Hasbro to pull Fun Publsihings license!

grayman is so incensed by the short run, that unless a secod run is issued, he's leaving Transformer collecting FOREVER!!!

skmspy thinks Botcon should have more than one event a year. after all, it's so easy anyone can do it! (WAIT, a guy who does this for a living says it's not?) Well then I really don't care one way or another!

Boy, people sure get their knickers in a twist about toy robots.

Not that I should talk, I suppose. I was bitching about the movie the other night. Hugo Weaving doesn't bother me and I think the robot designs look nifty... I was just WTFing at calling Spike's girlfriend 'Mikaela'. What, was 'Carly' too old-fashioned?

From someone who can't even get convention exclusives of one of her favorite toy lines for a decent price because said cons are in Japan: AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It seems that some people don't seem to get that the limited runs themselves are a large part of the appeal of such exclusives. One has to be quick enough or otherwise be prepared to pony up the cash to auctioneers. That's the way it goes :P

Alright, first I have to say this.

That out of the way, Phazer is usually just deemed "troll" and people try to ignore him over at the Allspark. Sometimes it seems he disagrees just for the sake of pissing off everyone else.
Me, I'd love to get the Seekers at least (especially Thrust, dear Primus is that figure just made of win ♥), but with the boxsets already sold out, there's probably no way I can just get someone to register and buy me a bagged set since they won't really have any incentive to go. After market value is invariably insane on BotCon exclusives; the Seekers will be worse than most because of their popularity. Ah well. No sexy Classics Thrust for me.

Now I just want my movie toys and my movie. I can hardly wait for the movie. WHY IS IT NOT OUT NOW?

Oh yes. Yes there is. And he is the most glorious, most awesome, most bestest Magnus toy in EVER. Namely, he's unique and not just Albino Prime. (Although there is also a War Within Titaniums Magnus that's Yet Another White Optimus Repaint.)

Ahhh. Yeah, the backpack is bothersome, but I blame that on his trailer. (He actually straps on his trailer. Eee.)

Remy Rodis, as always, has lots of nice photos. Apparently, the red-eyed version was an early design? Walky's photo was of the preview model at BotCon '06, I think.

That series has been mxed, really. Jetfire was horrid, but Scourge was great and the Fallen seems pretty good.

I only have WW Prime and Jetfire, both of whom have their flaws. (I'm looking at those shoulders, Prime.) Of course, I blame this on the absolutely craptastic distribution and the fact that stores in my area never seem to get in new TF stuff when everyone else in the bloody country does. I have yet to see Scourge or The Fallen in person, or I suspect they'd be on my shelf staring down Prime and Jetfire.

I'm also told WW Megatron sucked hard.

My biggest twitch was on how "easy" it is to run a con.

Hell, I created and helped run Fellowslash, a LotR slash-con, for a year and a half. Months of work and we were fairly small, about 50 people.

I can't imagine something major.

As soon as someone uses 'SLAP IN THE FACE' as any sort of argument, I tune out. This guy is trying to hide the fact that he missed out by being slow and he's not hiding it very well. Too bad, imo.
