Happy Mother's Day!

Over on Movies.Com Someone posts a review for Spider-Man 3.

"Alex" wrote:

I don't really know what they were thinking with this one. I enjoyed the first two... but number 3? Wow, what a miss!

First off, I paid $9 to see SpiderMan 3... not some sappy, weepy, sentimental, overacted piece of crap. The action scenes? Only some were good, the rest were nothing special (the first two had better scenes for sure). The best action scenes were probably the very first between Parker and Harry (on his little glider thing), and then the building getting sliced open by the cranes (poor Bryce!)

So, everyone's been talking about the EMO Parker. I agree with the others, it was ridiculously lame. I couldn't help but roll my eyes each time Parker looked in the mirror, grimaced, and then slicked his hair down, just above his black-lined eyes. Go listen to some Alkaline Trio, *******.

And the scene where Parker pulled a Jim Carrey/"The Mask" stint on MJ in the Jazz bar. What were they thinking? Cheesy, stupid, and irritating.

And WHAT was with all the crying!?!? Good God, was this Ya-Ya Sisterhood!?! I can't even count the number of times some character started weeping... and poorly overacted at that. All those sappy, sentimental one-liners... they were AWFUL! I literally couldn't take it anymore, and neither could the rest of the audience. Towards the end, many in the audience were giggling, snickering, and chuckling at inappropriate times... it was that bad people!

Nevertheless, it made about $60 million in one day... but that doesn't mean us fans of the first two enjoyed it at all. Good God, I want my money back. It was baaad.

-Alex

Alex is obviously a Spidey-Foe who must be stopped.

natparks: $381.7 mil. worldwide in less than a week can't be wrong. Get a life & get a date high school nerds before the school bully gives you another swirly.

And then there's living_dead_boy, who takes a beak from bartending in the dark to wail:

Do bangs and black clothing make you emo? I dont think so, you ingnorant labeling PRICK!!!

Hilarity ensues.

Apparently, a dog gets punched in the face.

...and Red saw the scene with the symbiote crawling up Peter's leg and was like, "RAPE!!!"

Apparently, she wasn't the only one, since there was a CAD comic making the same reference.

Eventually, the boyfriend and I will see that movie.

Read some of the responses in that thread; the people defending the movie are making the same criticisms that the OP did. They agree with each other, but haven't realized it yet.
"That movie was a piece of crap!"
"Oh yeah?! Well, of course it was, but it made a load of money! What's your point?"

Justinblanton seems to be fapping the most feverishly, calling people losers and squawking about "they should really have posters take an english aptitude exam before writing in here I mean My God" and peppering his observations with "oh-so-charming" insults. The hell crawled up his ass?

Meanwhile, no wank would be complete without someone busting open a dictionary. Inkblot84 does, to define the term "loose". Needless to say, justinblanton is not impressed and keeps the stupid flowing. Shit, I don't even think he's pissed about the movie, anymore.

Using box-office to justify a movie's quality is always, always lame. Especially sequels.

That said, I also find it funny the original poster has a problem with the movie being overly sentimental and overacted, but thinks the first two are fine and dandy. Peter could have dropped to the ground and started pulling on MJ's legs, and it still wouldn't be worse than Peter's regaling a fictional anecdote to MJ about meeting Spidey.

I must admit to being kind of disappointed by the movie- Venom was always one of my favorites, so I was hoping for, y'know, a good script. But oh well. It was entertaining. Still though, that end bit... The "yeah, I killed your uncle but I didn't mean to." and Peter forgives him. Did he not mean that whole smashing-you-into-a-pulp thing five minutes ago either? ._.

Also the Peter dance. Haaa, that was awesome, just the expressions of the women walking by. XD

I saw Spidey-3 opening night, and the theatre was packed with emos. (The trend kind of took over our town.) They thought "Emo Peter" was hilarious. Everyone cracked up at the hair-slicking scene. Pseudo-emos seem to take themselves too seriously. *shakes head sadly*

I think that horrible dancing was worth more complaining than anything else.

This was not as good as I hoped it was going to be, but the dancing made up for it. :)

There is nothing remotely emo about how "Dark Peter" acts. He's aggressive, ruthless, and murderous.

I, for one, was not paying very much attention at all to unimportant things like the overblown, unnecessarily complicated plot, the cheesy-as-hell dialogue, or the horribly mangled characterization.

I was busy thinking up all the deliciously smutty things that I could write involving Harry (and possibly Peter and MJ, OT3 anyone?). Because James Franco is sex on legs. *purrs*
