The Comic Book Wanking Planner
From a most excellent mouse over at [info]wank_report, I bring you that tastiest of cakes: comics wank.

For those of you who don't follow such things, DC Comics superheroine Black Canary and superhero Green Arrow, after years of on-again off-again romance, have decided to tie the knot.

Because it is DC, and they're . . . DC, they have apparently put together a big hoopla for this, complete with a one-shot devoted solely to Black Canary doing the wedding planning.

Pervyficgirl is not entirely pleased.

There is utterly no way to read The Announcement of The Black Canary Wedding Planner as anything other than a slap in the face to the women who actually read comics. DC's intentions could not be clearer if they had started packaging their comics with T-shirts stating "Comics are male masturbatory fantasies. Get over it."

She gets linked and mocked in two comics blogs. Predictably, the wank jumps out of the bachelorette party cake, wearing only a spangled thong. Except it's the wrong stripper! They ordered the Sexism In Comics boy and instead they got Mr. Manners! In the greatest tradition of internet drama, the actual original debate - whether or not the Black Canary/Green Arrow wedding is being handled in a sexist sort of way - has been almost completely tossed aside. So for those of you keeping score at home, apparently the only thing the comics community likes to argue about more than sexism (and who can win in a fight, Batman or Wolverine) is linking shit.

Naturally, I am of course linking all this without permission. Somebody get me a motorcycle and a hot sidekick, for I am a rebel!
