Thanks to the mousie on wank_report for a cheap laugh.

Not that we're shocked or anything but [info]teh_no is once again beating his meatstick where it is not wanted.

He decides to report a Starfox fic with a serious theme to fanfic_rants.

People beg to differ.
However the real fun comes when [info]nymosy decides to break out a sparkly smack-down.(Warning extermely large text!)

But I think there's only so far you can take canon before you're not writing fanfic at all, you're just writing about random people having horrible things happen to them that supposedly takes places in the same universe as our guys. What's Harry Potter without the moments of levity or without the darkness in the background? Sure, your fic can focus on either of two, but if you go overboard on either the angst or the fluff, I can't buy it.

While I believe that he is, in this case, correct about the origins of the story (i.e., more about the event than having it take place in any specific world), it's the writing style and not the events that determine these ...

Nevermind, I fail at funny. I'll go eat ice cream morosely.

I'm not sure what I found funnier: the "determined your mother" line, or the follow up paragraph of good points, still in large sparkly text.

And this was bound to happen sooner or later, I'm sure a sizable portion of ffrants know what a wanker teh_no is and were just waiting for an opening like this. Still very amusing though.
