pureimmortal decides to make a database of all the Harry Potter fanfiction she has on her computer and then share it with the world. Unfortunately, she's using Access she doesn't contact the authors to get their permission.
When she posts a list of all the stories she has available, without details of author, pairing, rating or warnings, and offers to email them to anybody who wants them, the authors get a little upset.silver89kitten: Not only is this rude, you've offended many writers out there, but it can also be taken as copyrighting, as you've not been given permission from authors to distribute their stories, nor have you even credited any of them for their work.
