DramaDramaDuck: Looks Like They Forgot the Third Part Every once in a while, I go looking for a good multifandom rp on lj. Most often, I give up due to all the drek, but sometimes something amusing is in the offing. For those of you unfamiliar with it, dramadramaduck is a multifandom crack rp. Most of the people there are sane and rational most of the time, and while there's ocassionally drama of the real sort, usually a good time is had by all. In the past few months, however, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse. Drama has occurred. Grudges have formed. Lines have been drawn. For those of you playing at home: Setine = Kristel = Axel = Sora = Kewie = Riku = Usually I wouldn't try to use a key, but people are referred to by both character names and handles, and it unfortunately does not become less confusing with two hours of sifting. Following an honestly unwanky post asking for policy suggestions, mod Setine tells the group that while it's good they care about what happens in the community, they need to settle down and not argue. Since, Setine adds, whatever they say, the mods will do the deciding for them anyway. Some people tell Setine to settle down herself. Given past drama and that the latter of these is the head mod, Setine decides to resign, and the helpful Kristel offers to replace Setine, if it comes to that. Cue wanksplosion. It starts off quietly enough - upon finding out that Kristel has been nominated for modship, someone makes a polite anonymous post to the official suggestions thread, stating that they don't think that Kristel could would be a good mod. Unfortunately, they add that they're posting anonymously for fear of retaliation. Thankfully for Kristel, more than one person takes the time to stay that they are OFFENDED that anyone would question Kristel's ability to mod and SHOCKED that anyone would think they'd be dogpiled for saying anything about it. This is followed shortly by another mod leaving, claiming both disgust with the clique and that, in fact, he was in the process of being voted out now that Kristel is in. Reactions to this include: Setine: I'm sorry, I don't know what's going on! Can it be macro tiems now plz? It's a fucking livejournal RPG comm. Luckily, the head mod is on the job, making sure to head off drama where she can with the ever-effective ... Also in this post, Sora takes the time to point out that, despite what people are saying about her, she is not the anonymous poster, thank you. That issue is dismissed as old grudges are dredged up to make the thread just that little bit longer. This post is then immediately followed by a post from Kewie-chan, who reveals that it was her who made the anonymous post. This leads to my favorite comment from the whole wank, made by Setine: ... No. Kewie. ;_; If you had just put your name on it, we wouldn't have attacked you. Because as we all know, the best way to prove you're not a clique is to declare that you wouldn't have dogpiled had you known who you were attacking. Kewie-chan and Kristal get to have a nice discussion here about whether Kewie-chan hates Kristel or not. Bonus points to Kristel for conflating posting in a suggestion thread with intentionally starting up drama. Finally, the head mod makes a post. She is not controlled by a cabal, she is not leaving although she is very hurt, Kristel is a mod so put up and shut up, and by the way, she would like Kewie and Sora's player to come back, but Riku's player doesn't need to darken her doorstep again. Fun comments include the head mod explaining that she's intimidated by Setine's friends. And remember kids, always get your grievances with people out in IM where the head mod will miss them, because questioning things in the comm isn't putting things out in the open, it just causes wank. Also: a refreshing reprise of, "If I'd known it was Kewie and not you, I might have listened to the complaint." Cue: There is no clique. These are not the mods you're looking for. Edit the first: Ignipotent leaves the comm as well, revealing that she helped Kewie with the anonymous post and has felt for some time that there were problems with the comm. Along with this, Sora makes an official leaving-the-comm post. Post a comment in response: |
