Hey, all!  Remember this wank?  About the baby not!elephants, and whether or not the abuse of such in a fantasy figure game crossed some line of common decency?  There was a lot of tl;dr about the validity of the complaints?

Well, Privateer Press sure noticed.  See their October 25 front page announcement (not directly linkable, but currently right up top) about merchandise to capitalize on/ruthlessly mock the whole flamey affair.  Best line:

Privateer Press would like everyone to know that we share this sentiment and are deeply concerned with the ongoing abuse of these noble, fictitious animals.

It's no great surprise that this stirs things up again.  While the topic previously died down after a mod-locking, it rises again in a new thread.  Highlights thus far!

How about being a responsible business PP and donating the proceeds from these items to local human societies instead of just pocketing them?

[...] grow a pair and bash the baby titan's brains out before it mashes up your army!

If this merchandise offends your "sensibilities" I strongly suggest you go play some other game, like Pokemon.

As early as Post 23, a staffer steps in to say of the merchandise that P.P. was not intending to poke fun at people, but simply at their ideas.  This goes over about as it would reasonably be expected to--it adds fuel to the fire.

Not too long as of yet--only two pages--but possibly worth keeping an eye on, and notable for possibly the most amusing display of filthy capitalism I've ever seen.

EDIT:  Ah, the perils of posting something just before you go to sleep for eight hours.  Thanks [info]harrylovesron for pointing out the Rich Text thing.  Fixed!
