Don't put my Sailormoon Sue in your journal, you HO!
There have been a million different Sue of the Day journals popping up in LJ as of late, like Pottersues and LoTR Sues. Of course there is a [info]sailormoonsues. One 'fic author gets pissed because they're lovely story is put up in the journal, and calls the person who put it up "Elitist". The journal owner becomes rather defensive. And then the calvary comes in to save the poor author.

Full wankage here:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/sailormoonsues/3696.html

Edit: It's up to 50 comments, now. Bask in the wank.

Someone call the Waaambulance! Some of the people in that thread are going to wank themselves to death!

It kills me that she claims that the character isn't a Mary Sue, when she obviously loves and adores the character enough to name her domain after her. O_o

*snickers insanely* I think anybody ever associated with the Sailor Moon fandom at one time or another has a Mary Sue hiding in their closet. Hell, I wouldn't care if they posted mine up... they were awfully Sue-ish, though they'd have to seriously dig for them. @_@ My SM fandom days were years ago... back when Stars was airing~

*raises hand* I have a closetfull. I still have a closetfull. I still co-mod an RPG in which I play one.

But I know full damned well that mine are Mary Sues.

Personally, I'd like to see the sailormoonsues girl throw Sailor Orion out there and see what happens. She's like...the original Mary Sue senshi. Even though I did enjoy the story, Sailor Orion was the epitome of Mary Sueness. But with good grammar.

I wonder why so many people are unwilling to admit the Mary Sueness of their story. Hell, I'd admit. One time, I even wrote a little something and deliberatly put me in as a supporting character. Said 'me' got eaten by Satan. I really don't know what says about me and I don't want to find out.

Heee. Those were the days. SM was my very very first fandom. ^^

My Mary Sue at the time I tend to think falls more on the 'self-insert' side as she only ever appeared in massive crossovers and usually for the purpose of getting beaten up by the canon characters for making them interact in exceedingly stupid ways. (I can't even remember *how* anymore, except for vague horrified memories of Hiei in purple taffeta).

My fave part?

The whole 'Post YOUR Otaku Senshi, post YOUR Otaku Senshi!'

Really many folks at MSR have admitted, and posted their sues, I'm not sure what this person was trying to accomplish by needling the poster about her non-exsistant MS characters.

Breaking out the bukkake Icons here...

But, seriously...wow, you're a published author. Good for you. It's not like Mary Sues, let alone their writers, haven't been published in the history of mankind (or Marty/Gary-Stus, for that matter). Get over yourself--some journaler's slagging off an old fic that you wrote, boohoo.

Seriously, I don't understand why published equals good. I mean, Unicorn Jelly's in book form, isn't it?

Moreover, so are the works of Anne Rice!

Anyone with a couple hundred bucks can get published.

Generally takes a good agent to get a good publisher and good luck to actually get read, though.

This has nothing to do with the wank, 'cause I know absolutely nothing about SM. This is just a random word-usage bit of advise, because I'm anal and hopelessly uptight about things like this.

And then the calvary comes in to save the poor author.

calvary= place where Jesus Christ was crucified

cavalry= horseback division of military

Just, y'know, for future reference. ;-)
