I don't know if you know anything about Bioware, but in case you don't: they're the developers behind a number of fairly prominent RPG titles like Baldur's Gate/Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

They've also had a title, Dragon Age, in development for some years. Thus far, very little information about it has been released. This has made some people... antsy. Speculations about EA, who's recently bought Bioware, ruining the game. Then Dave Gaider, one of Bioware's lead writers, makes an appearance:

We said we were working on the game, and beyond a few bits that have gone out to let everyone know that, yes, we are still working on it we've simply kept plugging along. When we're ready to ramp up the PR, trust me, you'll probably find that you can't not hear about it.

But, no, you've decided that you "need" more information, and if we aren't giving it to you the only possible reason could be that we're incompetent, right? Right. How about
you get a grip? Seriously.

And: I get that you're concerned. I just don't get why-- other than perhaps that you're paying too much attention to a game that hasn't even asked for any yet. If you really want me to call you an idiot, okey dokey: you're an idiot.

Surprisingly, the thread continues to roll on peaceably, polite questions are asked, DGaider continues to be testy, things get wildly off-topic and then Warden enters. Apparently, he has some issues with Bioware--I mean, "Biowhore," as he so cleverly puts it. Big issues. And he's going to tell everyone all about it:

"If we wanted (this), if we wanted (that)"... can you stop for a while with your arrogant attitude and think about what the other side (the customers/fans) wants? (I'm not a Bioware fan so don't look at me)... I'm writing this because I got nauseated from your rhetorics - someone wonders why there ins't any new info and (rightfully) questions what the fu*k is Biowhore thinking, and you say to him to get a grip!? A guy makes a funny remark about necromancy and enslaving nations with it (which was part of the slogan for DA for a long time as far as I remember) and you question his intelligence?
Seriously, is one of the prerequisites for being hired by Bioware being immature and frustrated?

Dave replies. Warden retorts. Dave mocks Warden for, apparently, trying desperately to re-register on the Bioware board, from which he's been banned. So he calls Bioware fascists. Also, he's created many, many accounts at the Bioware forum to circumvent the ban. Warden continues to assault people by calling them children and using smileys a lot.

I wasn't going to post this, because I thought it'd died down. Unfortunately (or fortunately), it seems to be thriving just fine, complete with a second troll who may or may not be Warden's sockpuppet.

I read the offical DA forum so I was like "how did I miss this" but then I clicked the link and I was like "oh it is a different forum" and can I mention how much I love David Gaider and want to have his babies he is such a good writer.

Every time a whiny entitlement bitch shows up on the official forum I am filled with glee. Especially when they accuse Bioware of having no balls.

I love David Gaider so goddamn much.

Did I mention he writes Baldur's Gate fanfiction, hangs out on the mod (= fanmade content) boards, made his own unofficial expension pack to the expension pack for BGII and voluntarily betas fanmade character scripts just because he can?

Huh, I know he made the Ascension mod and wrote a KotOR fanfic for people frustrated with the Carth romance, but didn't know he also did BG/BG2 fanfic. Awesome! (Even though I didn't think much of the NWN OC or JE. :/)

I adore Dave. One of my happiest fanfic memories was seeing him comment favorably about the Keldorn fic I posted to the Attic way back when. (Not the one where I put him in a threesome with my PC and Anomen, though.)

I went back in the archives of the Attic to scrounge up some of Dave's fanfic.

http://www.gamejag.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=65112

That's as far as I got. There may be more, but Dave didn't register after the Attic changed board software, so I couldn't use the search function.

Also, when tons of information comes out on a game before it's out, there are instantly tons of opinions on whether that's the coolest thing ever or it sucks and now the game will be awful. I'd rather wait until people have actually played the thing and can tell me how the ideas/characters/gameplay came off in the actual game.

I've stopped keeping my ear to the ground on that one. Because seriously, when KOTOR 3 is finally announced, there will be a fandom explosion that I won't be able to miss. LucasArts and BioWare are collaborating on something in the near future, but no one knows what.

I'm trying to be satisfied with the comics for the time being. Trying. They're wonderful, but not the same.

Aw, Bioware. It created a family bond. My dad bought Baldur's Gate for me for Christmas a few years ago; sadly, I sucked at it, but he grew to love it, so I got him BG II for his birthday.

Then came Neverwinter Nights. My desktop is currently in the shop, getting superfied for the express purpose of playing NVN II.

To know that they have such awesome writers makes me love them all the more!

On the other hand, you're talking about a company that has a fascistic moderation policy - so after you get banned by the SS you have to make another account because you, duh, can't use the last one. So, dgaider, I only had 1 account at a time, never multiple accounts. Although, 1 was more than enough to joke with you and the amazing crew of retards there.

I love it when they call me a Nazi :D It really makes me change my mind about banning them, oh, yes.

Also, sheesh. Go find another RPG in the meantime.
