Wank to accompany holiday shopping
On Amazon's home page, there is an announcement saying that they have won the auction for the seventh copy of J.K. Rowling's The Tales of Beedle the Bard for $4 million. What follows are reviews of the tales within, as well as pictures of the book itself.

Then Amazon says that they're taking questions about the book. At the time of this post, there are 83 threads. Among the threads, J. Trevor Chapman decides to play devil's advocate in lieu of the squee, and people miss his point and get defensive.

From Pathetic:

J. Trevor Chapman(OP)
-You're all so sad. You herald Harry Potter as fine literature, while ignoring true literary genius. Is there anything noble in the books? Are there any sentences that have shocked the world's truths?
No.
But you read to escape reality into this fantasy world where you all can fly and turn people into toadstools. Enjoy.

Also check out Why did you buy this book?

And, of course, there is mention later of JK Rowling being a witch and the antichrist. Also that she and Amazon are evil - she for writing the books and not sharing them en masse and Amazon for "waving it in our faces." These threads were not started by our dear J. Trevor, but they are still amusing.

From the "witch" link above:

Adam Fowler says:
Only one way to settle this to see if she's a witch.
Build a bridge out of her.

Stefanie Mario says:
is she the same weight as a duck?

Adam Fowler says:
No but we did do the nose and the hat.....

Stefanie Mario says:
reading harry potter turned me into a newt!

(If there are any glaring problems with the html or great new updates from LJ or anything, let me know and I'll add it. Thanks!)
