What disturbs me is that enough people see the need to specifically add spankings specifically to Supernatural that there's a community about it. Specifically. Anyway, I don't really know what statements is supposed to be about, but this strikes me as the kind of "statement" that belongs solely in one's own journal, friends-locked. Okay, MOAR comment. There's something weird and vaguely nonconsentual about bending somebody else's characters to suit one's own kinks. I dunno, wouldn't that apply to all fanfiction, etc. then? Or is it okay to write fanfic, and maybe smutty fanfic, but not kinky smutty fanfic? My premise is that messing with somebody else's canon is akin to messing with their kids. Or, well, I guess that answers that question. Your error in logic arises from anthropomorphizing a television show. Supernatural is intellectual property from which no one else may make profit. It is not a child. It is about money, not 'messing with someone's kids.' Well, now, that depends on what country you're in. Someone said thread necroing is disapproved of anywhere, and I can't find the statement now. -Really? Is this true? Cause I've been messing up on my LJ etiquette if it is. I thought that was for message boards where it makes the message go back to top. Granted, necroing to wank is an entirely different thing, but I'm curious.
