You there! Stop having fun with that tied up woman!
Scans_daily gets a post with a preview of Volume 3 of Adam Warren's Empowered, a superhero comic about a incompetant superheroine who's always getting captured and tied up by somebody, or otherwise humiliated.

Anyway, gdwessel decides to do the unthinkable, and call Empowered "one of the worst fucking things I ever read".

And then the wank all kicks off from there...

I actually liked the first volume of Empowered. I thought it was funny, in a tongue-in-cheek way. (That, and I still had a soft spot for Warren, if only for 'Grunge the Movie' and 'Magical Drama Queen Roxy'.)

But the second volume was little more than a series of masturbatory fantasies (the "more" being fantasies about being a macho, macho man), and if the third one is anything like that, it probably stinks to high heavens.

I'm surprised some of these people could take the time away from masturbating furiously over everything Warren has touched in order to actually post their laughable little comments.

I own Empowered- there are a few decent chapters that actually deliver solid satire. Unfortunately the rest is, well... uh, no thanks.

Well, I like it, but I can see how others wouldn't. I just think it's funny, with engaging characters. The fanservice seems to be more of a parody than flat out--heck, Emp even gets nauseated when it occurs to her that people find her wank-worthy.

Love Empowered. Got it on free comic book day awhile back, thought it would be kinda stupid and sexist but hey free comic. It's not for everyone and it isn't the "omgbestcomiceva!" but it as better character interaction then in a lot of superhero comics, a female superhero who has issues with having to wear a skintype uniform, pokes fun at the pin-up fap material thing while using that same art style, and it's funny.
