LotR Slash Wank....Homophobia, Underage Fen and more!
First Maura decided that she just couldn't bear to write/read slash any more because it was such a horrible sin!!
Then Elbereth did a me too post (which is sadly friends locked). And when the backlash began, she got all defensive. (Again friends locked). The gist of her posts though, were the same as Maura's: that she was leaving the slash community because she just couldn't keep sinning any more. *rolls eyes*
Ancalime followed suit, friends-locking her entry too so that she could avoid being called on her prejudicial remarks.
Elwen asked the age old question of "why can't we just all get along???" while still getting in a few anti-gay digs. (NOT friends locked)
The real fun, though, begins when baranduin makes her opinion of this mini-exodus known.
My favourite quote from baranduin's thread's comments is from Maura:
Let me also say that I am not homophobic. To each his own. I simply will not allow myself to be homosexual because I believe it's wrong.
Be careful, reading Maura's entire post may give you whiplash.
ETA: *snerk* I've been told to apologize to poor Miss Maura or I will be banned from baranduin's LJ. Oh my heart is so broken. Yes I got snotty, but I have a low tolernce for morons. Which Maura most certainly is.
ETAx2: *sniffle* I've been banned. Even though baranduin agrees with me. heh It's a moral victory! *shrug*
