Ah, finally something worth a new post: SVA gives a short interview to BlogHogwarts, a Spanish-language site. The original English version is at Leaky Lounge.

(Previously on the Hundred Years' Wank: The trial is postponed to April 14; conflict of interest shenanigans; RDR lawyer has not replied to TLC requests for clarification on possible miscommunication/perjury; blog posts for and against RDR; some actual funny; the Lexicon drinking game.)

(Repeat of standing offer: If you are unhappy with the focus of these reports, comment with a link to an article, site, commentary, or evidence of some kind, and I will be more than happy to post it.)

ETA: New Justia document: "Counsel for Plaintiff hereby advise the Court and opposing counsel that they have elected to proceed with the bench trial and have Your Honor decide this case." I believe the deadline for the defendants requesting a jury trial was March 14.

The book has four authors. I am the main author, but three of my Lexicon editors worked on the book as well.

SVA: not the sole author.

The Lexicon book will have around 400 pages. It's 160,000 words. The book has four authors. I am the main author, but three of my Lexicon editors worked on the book as well.

As they say, NNOGTFO! Who are these other four authors? Did they sign a legal agreement, too, and assert their authorship of this volume?

SVA: "A victory for RDR Books will protect the rights of fans to create based on someone else's work. If RDR Books loses, copyright holders will be given broad new control over fan activity, control which will allow them to shut down sites, stop authors from writing about their works, etc. So a win for RDR Books is definitely in the best interest of fans who create websites, write fanfiction, make wands, compose wizard rock, and so on. I am surprised how many fans have missed this point. Their freedom to create is on the line here."
