And another dressing room wank.

Some people feel uncomfortable at the dressing room for the Tales of videogames series, talesofdressing and wonder about making their own sandbox.

And then some players of talesofdressing get offended about the implication of people getting limits.

My god, there isn't a single person in that wank who could successfully argue in favor of the existence of gravity, is there? They seem to be attempting to debate whether the proper characterization of their characters comes before avoiding perpetuating negative social behaviors, but there's no debate. There's "I'm right and you're evil!" "No, I'm right and you're evil!" You know you're really fucking up when you're arguing against racism and I still want to smack you for being a moron.

So far, only the misuse of the word epitaph has amused me. In fact, I would say that racial epitaphs are actually more offensive than racial epithets. Although, in an odd way, a bit thoughtful...

My head, it is blown.

I think the funniest part of this to me is that so far as I can tell, from what I know of some of the participants, they're not exactly the cynical /b/tard sort who mock everything and everyone equally. I mean, when I see people who are extremely thickskinned and prone to finding humour even the most horrifying of things fail to understand how things like racism are actually really bad, it makes sense. If you're used to laughing at everything that you shouldn't, well yeah, you'll laugh at racism probably. It doesn't make it right, but it seems like a logical continuation to me.

But when thinskinned, somewhat whiny people do it, it comes off as really ridiculous.

Okay, I'm not exactly the best cook in the world, but I make killer jalapeño poppers. Take as many jalapeños as you want to eat, slice them in half down the middle and take the seeds out. Fill both halves with cream cheese. Put the halves back together and wrap with 1/2 to 1 slice of bacon, depending on the size of the pepper. Use a wooden toothpick to pin the bacon in place. Fry in a frying pan or on a grill over a fire.

Here's my recipe for baklava - simple and easy to do, but tastes really good.

Baklava, the easy way

1 packet Filo pastry (I think they're 375g packets?)
Nuts - about 4 cups all together of pistachios, almonds, walnuts or a blend of the three
Sugar and water in a ratio of 1.5 parts sugar to 1 part water
About 1 tbsp white vinegar
Olive oil

Grease or paper a deep oven tray and lay 2-4 layers of filo pastry at the bottom. Brush pastry lightly with olive oil. Blend nuts into a very coarse powder. Sprinkle about 1/8 of the nuts over the pastry, then lay down another 2 layers of filo pastry and repeat until you are out of nuts. Brush the top layer of pastry with oil and cut it into squares (or diamonds, or whatever you like). Bake in a moderate oven until the top is golden brown. Pour syrup over the baklava, allow time to cool, and serve.

Syrup: bring water to boil then add sugar and vinegar; stir until sugar dissolves completely and syrup starts to thicken.

That probably wasn't explained very well. I know how to make it for myself, and I never bother with measurements, so I don't know if I got the quantity exactly right. Experimentation will produce the best results.

Raspberry-Lemon Tart

1 c flour
1/2 c butter
2 Tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp lemon extract
4 c. fresh raspberries
8 oz. raspberry jam

1 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Blend flour, butter, lemon extract, and sugar and chill for 1 hour. Pat dough down into tart pan or pie plate and bake at 375* for 10 minutes. Let cool at room temperature.

Fill tart shell with raspberries. Heat jam until just boiling (stirring constantly on stove or in microwave if preferred). Pour hot jam carefully over berries. Cover and chill 1 hour.

Whip cream until slightly stiff; add sugar and vanilla and whip until peaks hold. Cover chilled tart with cream, garnish with additional berries if desired and serve.

ECCHAN'S GRANDMA'S BADASS LAYERED NACHO DIP OF JOY
This is the giant partysize format; for less people halve the amounts.

1 package cream cheeze (250g)
1 tub sour cream (500 mL)
Salsa (mild, medium or hot depending on what you like)
Green onions
Tomato
Black olives
Grated/shredded cheese of your favourite kind. I use cheddar, but I've had it made with the packaged textmex grated cheese and this was equally nom.

Combine the cream cheese and the sour cream and stir it up until it's smooth. You can let the cream cheese soften to do this, or be a lazy impatient doomsod like me and just use a handheld mixer. (Grandma makes fun of me for this. :( hey shhhhh it's not my fault I keep forgetting to let the cheese soften.)
Spread the sour cream cheese into the bottom of one of those flat rectangular glass casserole dishes. It'll usually end up about an inch thick, this layer.
Spread salsa over the sour cream cheese, making the salsa layer about half the depth of the bottom layer.
Chop up the tomatoes and green onions and sprinkle 'em over the salsa. Spread your grated cheese over the salsa-tomato-onion layer.
Chop up your black olives and sprinkle those over the cheese.
NOM WITH TORTILLA CHIPS.

You can use light sour cream or cream cheese or cheese if you want and it doesn't affect the tastiness of the recipe whatsoever. It is still very nom. I bet making it with homemade salsa would just be amazing, but usually we end up using the stuff from a jar because this is our best default 'oh crap we need an appetizer oh CRAP okay uh veggies and dip and - crap, we don't have crackers for cheese and crackers OOH salsa dip of joy!' recipe. XD
