Boku ga Wanku. (aka Gundam 00 wank)
As an anonmousey was so kind to write up a complete report at wank_report, I figured I should share this little wank with the rest of fandom_wank. The only thing I have added is fixing the html for the links and anything in bold text past this paragraph.

Gundam 00 is the latest in the Gundam anime franchise. It's tauted as the Post 9/11 Gundam for being realistic about war and being broadcast in Hi Def. Despite ample opportunity for wank-fests in this series so far the Gundam community has been generally civil. Or at least, I thought it was, but apparently our main wank generator here is a repeat offender (at least in the land of stupid_free.)

Yesterday...
News broke out that Bandai will be distributing Gundam 00 in North America.

And seemingly, things are fine. Not too much ruckus.
Except moderator and owner of the comm, bucue, is already sewing the seeds of ire taking any opportunity he can to mention how much he truly hates dubs. Dubs suck, therefore he will not be investing any money in DVDs for the sub, because that only rewards lousy dubs.

Things don't get interesting until bucue makes a follow up post to the comm stating, once again, how dubs suck and that drama regarding the sub v dub debate will most likely ensue...with some...added incendiary comments. This post is locked.
But the epic fallout, for some reason, is not. (I think you can glean all that you miss from later comments.)
First, witness "rival" lj comm, gundam_00 calling bucue out
As you can gather from that post, bucue accused the gundam_00 mods of spamming his gundam00 comm. And as we find out later, apparently the spam in question may have been yaoi fic related.

Then bucue posts again, in very tl;dr fashion, trying to sort everything out

Like mousey says it's quite tl;dr as bucue gives us all s/h/it's thoughts on yaoifandom. But it does have a nice LOL worthy bit where s/he mentions they had mistaken a friending meme as wank and thus deleted it.

I don't know that there are many lols to be had in his actual post, but the comments once again point to the epic wankery that went down in the span of one night.
Which apparently included things such as deleting posts that weren't really violating the policy, "you guys misunderstand my humor!", banning people...including, from the first comment thread, one of the other moderators...

Oh yes, a lot of tl;dr here - but the scope that can occur in one night is amazing. It's also amusing to note that the forecast of wank came about with the announcement of licensing, heralding sure fire Dub vs Sub wank...and yet none of the massive wank that occurred from this mod really had anything to do with dub vs sub opinions so much...

This wank takes place under locks in a community which is available to join without moderation. Most of it has been deleted anyway, but there are caps! Delicious, delicious caps.

Over at lj comm gundam00, an announcement is made regarding the series being licensed. There is little wank in this post, but what there is comes from resident mod, bucue: http://community.livejournal.com/gundam00/197889.html?thread=2715393#t2715393

Bucue, unable to just comment on the issue, makes a mod post telling others to respect each others viewing choices, while simultaneously bashing the dub and doing it in a way that makes people uncomfortable:

Now, this post originally had many more comments, which ranged from polite disagreement, slight offense, to snark, and even trolling. Doing what he does best, bucue screens and/or deletes all comments of disagreement, and bans most of the people who had replied to the post, including this person: (http://community.livejournal.com/gundam00/198352.html?thread=2723024#t2723024), whose comment was later unscreened (without bucue's response in return which was basically "cry moar") with spectacular backtracking by the mod. People are pissed, and two of them decide to troll the comm by spamming unrelated fanfic and icons. These posts are deleted almost immediately.

Another post is made by bucue blaming others who had nothing to do with the spamming, the text being:
"If you see the community being spammed let me know, I'll clean it up.

Just so you guys are aware, the people doing it are all former staff of the Zeonic corps translation group and are the mods of gundamseed, some of them are also to do with gundam_00.

Don't start drama in their community, I'm just pointing out who they are, I don't wish for anyone to go attack their communities and if you do so you will be banned from here."

Comments of this post range from "...that isn't what happened, the spammers admitted to it" to calls for bucue to step down as a mod due to his immaturity, and even a light-hearted friending meme to break from the drama.

...of course, these comments are all deleted, and everyone is banned again. Even those trying to politely reason with him and those only participating in the friending meme. Caps and html here: http://lionheart.actionhalo.net/gundam00banning/

After this, around three or four posts are made to the comm, asking for explanations and ranting against bucue, but he deletes them on sight and leaves us with this new journal entry:

"I've had just about enough of this community for one night. I've spent several hours trying to clean up after a bunch of idiots. Apparently a joke is not allowed any more of the entire fandom throws it's self off a cliff screaming their nuts off.

People were banned for fanning the flames and making things worse. Many had made perfectly acceptable comments with valid points, but later decided to get involved in the wank. I've had enough of it for one life time, so any wank posts I saw just got deleted, if the offender had repeatedly done it they got banned. Many of the people complaining are just alt accounts of people causing wank, apparently they need 15 accounts for god knows what reason so I dealt with it.

If you had issues send me a message on here or IM me, I'll talk to you directly and avoid this wank. The posts will be unlocked and unscreened tomorrow when this drama has cooled down.

Any one banned will be reviewed tomorrow by myself and the other mod and we will decide if the ban deserves to stand or not. If you made a worth while contribution to the community then you will most likely be unbanned, if you were just trolling then you won't.

ANY TOPICS ABOUT THIS WILL BE DELETED ON SIGHT. Everyone go get a cup of tea and calm down, it's a community about cartoon robots, why the hell have we spent a Friday evening getting into arguments over nothing?"

Things seemed to have calmed down for now, due to bucue's tendency for deleting any and all disagreement. But it will almost certainly get bigger as the naysayers keep coming out of the woodwork.


ETA 2: Bucue is his ever tactful way has deleted entries and threatened to ban anyone who continues to complain about how he's been running the comm, as can be read in these saved screen shots of the wank, thanks to yosei.

ETA 3: Bucue has been ousted from his comm and has taken up the age old art of trolling under the name of tieriaisafag on various LJ journals using current gundam00 maintainer cerulean88's default icon. As can be seen here and here.

ETA 4: kaiser_chan has given an update including the post he made on the /m/ board at 4chan. 4chan thread is deleted now but deconcentrateat LJ made a cap of the thread.
