Newsflash - fpb is OUTRAGED!

fpb chances upon a HP fic which contains "not only offensive but a genuine instance of hate speech, including evident racist overtones (apparently being "middle eastern" is bad) and a loathsome misrepresentation of historical fact."

He shields his flist from the source of this horror, claiming to not want to generate any more hits to the repulsiveness, only posting an excerpt.
The utterly offensive mote in his eye?

He also gives the author what for in the review section:
The most crass and odious display of hate speech I have seen in quite a while. Your pathetic ignorance of Christian history is even worse than your prejudice. You are a fool, and a vicious fool. You are also blind, if you think that approximately one-third of the human race being member of "that weird Middle Eastern" (nice racist formulation, you Powellite moron) "crucifixion cult" has been losing its popularity. But then, your likes always believe what they want to believe.

Back on his lj, people go "Whut?" and "character views != author views",
but fpb isn't having any of it:
If an author presents a character as admirable, then he approves of her views. Caitlin is consistently presented as admirable - stylish, attractive, brave (she is an Auror), diplomatic and wise. What she says is not challenged.

Then the author turns up and iz amused, having commented earlier without outing herself as the Evil Author:
I'm rather amused at fpb's overreaction to something he read in a work of fiction from years back. I had no idea anyone was still reading it. I won't be removing the comment(s?) he left, or reporting them to anyone else. If he wants trouble with the FA mods, he'll have to look for another way.
