Hiatus in the Supernatural fandom officially started last Friday, and already fans are getting a little stir-crazy.
There have been small-time rumblings from various corners of LJ this season over gender issues and many of these rumblings have involved Dean Winchester, one of the two stars of Supernatural.

The gauntlet has been thrown down, and now the wank is spreading throughout LJ-land, with many SPN fans posting either "I agree and Dean sucks!"; "I agree and Kripke sucks!"; "I disagree and you suck!' and "I am upset over fandom and wank sucks!"

There's a lesson to be learned here ~~Sam~~ fellow FW'ers: it really is going to be a long summer for SPN fans.

eta: and for added FAIL, the poster of this wank has not figured out auto-formatting. Would anyone be kind enough to link me to the FAQ that deals with LJ-tags? When I try to use the search function I keep running into a page about harassment. Maybe it is a sign?

(most of the conversation about this subject on my friendslist has been quite non-wanky, which I always feel a little bad about when I get here and see the SHEER CRAZY that's out there. It'd be totally out of place here to link the sane stuff, of course, but I always feel like SPN fandom gets a terrible rap here on F_W. We're not all like that! No really! Even those of us who are neutral on the whole Dean issue! Sigh.)

INORITE? It was mentioned in a post about Asylum that they (Jared and etc) put them up around the set and shit to torment him. lolz!

(Well, when HP fandom was on FW a lot we had a whole lot of members from that fandom who generally could make the lolz. It's hard to be too sympathetic of SPN fandom when we get a few talky types that don't often hang out at JF anyway (HP fandom had HMS_STFU here and a lot of us joined JF for it). You know what I mean? Add SPN's rep for misogyny... 's not going to work out too well. :\ I dunno if that's right, but I think it changes things a bit)

HEH. I love love love the boys pranking each other. I find it utterly awesome.

(I've pretty much gotten over the urge to try to defend the show...I figure, it's going to be some peoples' cup of tea and not others' and plus, it's a ridiculous show about ghost hunters on the CW, for heavens's sake. It's the occasional severely batshit wanker who shows up here spewing idiocy that irks me! I've never had to deal with it to quite such an extent before. Buffy wank was all on posting boards, CSI was too small to bother, and popslash...okay, popslash was wanky, but I had a long break. *grin*)
