The rise and fail of Agamemnon The latest skirmish in rec.arts.drwho escalates the continual bickering to breath-taking new heights. Agamemnon is a long-time prolific poster on USENET. He has his own pseudo-intellectual definitions of his very own words because the generally accepted meanings are often wrong. He insists people don’t read his arguments closely enough so they misinterpret his intent. Plus he has a spell checker, honestly. He is a very straight Doctor Who fan, as he insists loudly and repeatedly, who is not obsessed by Russell T Davies at all. He is distressed that RTD is trying to convert Britain’s youth from the path of heterosexuality and is thankful that he is strong enough to resist. Despite his acceptance of consensual bestiality, he blames RTD for introducing it to the show in Gridlock. If only all animals were brought up as well as his cat. Last week Agamemnon decided that RTD had had a cameo in “Forest Of Death” and produced the pictures to prove it. The posters of RADW were underwhelmed. Aggrieved by the lack of acclaim Agamemnon made an incautious bet. RADW went WTF. Wiki evidence was found. Agamemnon celebrated. Wiki evidence was deleted. After just nine minutes. Agamemnon refused to believe it. RADW declared that he had lost it. In more senses than one. Things went down hill from there. Other posters quoted him in their sig lines and he responded with demands that they stop. They didn’t. The cut’n’paste demands grew ever more frantic until that was pretty much all he was posting . After a week or so RADW was getting bored with the game and things were dying down until, with the BBC’s excitement over all things Who, RTD gave a radio interview. Agamemnon declares unilateral victory again. Because RTD saying "I would never do that" of course means he just did, it's all a matter of interpretation. And I haven't even mentioned the tinfoil. Tiny confession: I have railed at Agamemnon in the past and in one of these threads I give links to a Google groups kill file. Post a comment in response: |
