The aftermath of "Breaking Dawn"
We are falling behind on the Sparkledammerung, you guys. Previously: Twilight had its own Carpet Book. Fresh off the truck:

Just got back from Borders, where they took back my book with no problem. Got into a discussion with the cashier about how I was the 15th (!!!) person to bring my book back today. Seems like many customers felt that SM was not true to her characters and her self created Twilight world, and are calling foul.

	Twilight Mom forums are open for business. The What did you think thread? has 25 pages of posts so far. There's a lot of love for the book going on the first couple of pages. Oh, TwiMoms. you know, I kind of have to root for the fans who loved it at this point. I mean, sure, I think the whole series is crap, but at least the fans who loved BD don't have the delusional idea that it's suddenly way worse than the first three when it seems to be exactly where the whole series was the whole time: a crazy vampire filled crack fest.

I also love that that twimom liked that the book grossed her out. that's what I want in my literature.

Well, the couching isn't a surprise, I mean, it's a fan site. There's a name for folks who go in screaming "OMG IT SUXORS AND THE AUTHOR IS A H0R" and that word is troll.

I just expected the older and (hopefully) more mature fans to be more willing to say that it was bad rather than fanatically worship every printed word. Maybe I'm reading the fan dynamics wrong, though, the twilight fandom has confused me before (twatlight still kind of boggles me).

I don't know whether to call this wanky or just wacky, but:

There's a poll thread that has apparently been mod-edited to say "not what I was expecting" instead of "hated it." There's one angry response to the modification from "twilightmum":
"what? we're not allowed to view that we didn't like the book? i don't want my vote to be changed to "not what i was expecting"...that's not it at all! i truly did not like it. that is what i want my vote to read."

There are other people who say they're disappointed in the book but no one's getting up in arms about the mod edit, yet anyways.

HA! Now we're cooking with gas. In the 28th page of the "what did you think" thread we have pixievamp_08 (emphasis mine)

"Leesa, I understand where you're coming from. Somehow, I was able to start enjoying the book when I was really throw for a loop initially. Some of the previous posts on this thread however have been really discouraging and if SM were to read them, I think she may feel like the fandom she created is falling apart at the seams.
