From past Avatar, The Last Airbender wanks I'm sure people are familiar with Zutara the ship term for the characters Zuko, angsty teen villain turned hero of the show, and Katara, main female heroine of the series. It has had a very vocal fan following even when the creators began dropping anvil sized hints that the ship was not going to happen. But like stalwart tinhats before them they never gave up that Zutara was the one true pairing even if the creators did not know it.

KyokoMari over on her deviant art account made a lengthy post about how she doesn't hate the creators for not seeing the ship they so obviously created in the show and then swiftly turns around in the same post to rage against them. The boxset for the third and final season just came out and the commentary by the shows creators, Bryan and Mike, who have their own name squish of Bryke, laughed at bit at the Zutara shippers, which is what has set this Zutara shipper off.



DVD commentary for the Finale. It does exist. During the Agni Kai sequence, one of them remarks, "MAN... ZUKO, LIKE, SACRIFICED HIS LIFE FOR KATARA, AND SHE *STILL* DIDN'T GO FOR HIM. WHAT UP?"

They pause, then both have a little giggle and sputter out "Zutarians!"

Notice it's not "Zutara," but it's "ZUTARIANS." As in the people who have made up a majority of their support.

"THEY'RE MAD RIGHT NOW," says one, then the other "NO, THEY'RE NOT MAD"...

Are you serious? We're not mad that all along you've been laughing at us? That you waited until your LAST DVD was out to truly show your colors and OPENLY MOCK US AS PEOPLE? Profit-grabbers, thy name is Bryke.

I hate to say this, but the Kataangers were right. Zutara and and it's shippers were just jokes to these two jerks.

They also go on saying that it was always about the romance of Aang and Katara, "FROM THE MOMENT THEY LOOKED INTO EACH OTHER'S EYES WHEN SHE FOUND HIM IN THE ICEBERG."

Well, that's great and all, Mike and Bryan, but maybe if you'd spent a little more time developing this little romance and not making it seem like Katara was being his MOTHER instead of his GIRLFRIEND, maybe we Zutarians wouldn't have turned to the more romantically potential ZUTARA, thus we wouldn't make up a LOUD, PROUD, FIERCE AND TENACIOUS 75% of your fandom, THUS you wouldn't have had to stick in all that nonsense about Katara and Zuko having anything in common just to keep us around for the duration of the show!! Time spent leading us on could have been better spent putting more effort into your love-child Kataang.

Had you given us a freakin' reason to ship Romantic-Kataang, we would have done it.

So in conclusion, the point is that Mike and Bryan have been QUICKLY accumulating several strikes against them that have now completely and utterly driven me away from them, that have been named by myself and Kat as the " Four Great Blunders of Mike and Bryan." These are the steps to follow if you want to FAIL like Mike and Bryan, and they are as follows in true CAPSLOCK form.

BLUNDER 1: IN-SHOW BAITING OF ZUTARIANS/MOCKING OF THE SHIP ITSELF. THE WAY WE SEE IT, ZUTARA REALLY BECAME VOCAL AROUND THE WATERBENDING SCROLL. SO WHEN YOUR FANS GO APE-SHIT THAT EARLY ON FOR SOMETHING SO APPALLING AS, WELL, ANYTHING OTHER THAN KATAANG, SOMETHING MUST BE DONE. APPEASEMENTS MUST BE MADE, OTHERWISE YOU'RE GOING TO LOSE THE INCOME FROM THOSE INSANE FANS IN JUST A FEW EPISODES. LEAD-ONS ARE DEFINITELY THE WAY TO GO! MAKE THEM THINK THAT THEIR INFERIOR SHIP HAS SOMETHING GOING FOR THEM AS LONG AS YOU CAN. IT'S ALSO COOL TO STICK A JAB OR TWO AT THE SHIP ITSELF IN THE SHOW. IT'S ALL GOOD, THE ZUTARIANS WILL JUST THINK IT'S GOOD-HEARTED FUN UNTIL THE END WHEN YOU HAVE THEIR MONEY, ANYWAY.

BLUNDER 2: INTERVIEW ANSWERS. CALLING YOUR MOST MATURE FANS "KIDS" AND TELLING THEM WHAT THE SHIP THEY FOUNDED WAS ALL ABOUT. CONTRADICTING YOURSELF AND COMING OFF AS RUDE AND CONDESCENDING IS ALSO A GREAT TOUCH.

BLUNDER 3: SDCC. CAUSE REALLY, WHEN YOU HAVE STORYBOARDED ONE OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED, YET NOT SHOWN SCENES THAT YOUR FANDOM HAS BEEN WAITING FOR, IT'S REALLY THE BEST IDEA FOR YOU TO SHOW SOME 'SATIRE' VIDEO THAT MOCKS YOUR FANS, ALIENATING THEM AND MAKING THEM SQUIRM IN THEIR SEATS. WHY CELEBRATE THE END OF YOUR BRILLIANT SHOW WITH SOMETHING EVERYONE CAN ENJOY WHEN THERE'S SHIPPING JOKES TO BE MADE?

BLUNDER 4: DVD COMMENTARIES. COME ON, NO ONE WATCHES THESE THINGS ANYWAY. YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU LIKE ABOUT THE SHIPS OF YOUR SHOW...BETTER YET THE PEOPLE WHO SHIP THOSE SHIPS AND SPEND MONEY ON YOUR MERCHANDISE! BUT REALLY, IT'S BEST TO WAIT TO BE OPENLY MOCKING OF ANY PARTICULAR GROUP UNTIL THE FINAL DVD WHEN A BUNCH OF YOUR PROFIT HAS ALREADY POURED IN FROM THE FANS YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIS AND EVEN LOSE.

REMEMBER, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE FANS YOU LOSE, IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY YOU MAKE!
