Sleezer: World Domination Tour
PART IV: ATTACK OF THE 404 ERROR

The rebel forces at MLL got their bus ads (at least two of them, which is like 5%) Notice I'm linking to the images at BWP, because the Death Star forums at MLL have mysterious gone down.

There are rumors and speculation that Sleezer and Kate are in the MLL chat and kick out everyone who tries to pop in.

Kayspleen who donated all the money for the ads was banned from MLL as were JTF, evilyn, and lila. Mod Reuben quit and was replaced by pantiesinawad bunchesoffun.

There is a fun philosophical discussion on the nature of hate over at BWP.

Will the forums come back up? Will we ever find out how much the ads actually cost? Will we learn if the kind of bus the ads are on makes a difference? Will we find out if Sleezer actually ate any of those pagan babies? Stay tuned...

ETA alpha: [info]rijane has more dirt on Sleezer deleting a huge chunk of the forum late last night.

ETA beta:: Leeser caught lurking at BWP??

ETA gamma: Ex-MLL mods offer pretty damning evidence that Sleezer skimmed $10k off the 2008 con money.

ETA delta: [info]rijane explains about lawyers filing charges in this mess.

ETA epsilon: More con $$ shennanigans.

ETA zeta: SLEEZER SAYS MLL FORUM DOWN FOR GOOD!
edited to remove link to chat transcript because it violates F_W rules. You can find it if you dig around at BWP, but I am suspicious of the empty brand new journal.

ETA eta: I smell bullshit. I'm not the brightest bulb in the hallway, but this reads like one of Sleezer's supporters pretending to be a mouse and "leaking" info to us. YMMV.

ETA theta: www.lisagerry.com/ includes lots of MLL caps and all sorts of fun and damning evidence!

ETA iota: BWP has gone to registered users only for the off-topic forums. So none of these links work now. YAY? I think that concludes this wank unless Sleezer brings the forums back and explains it was a social experiment or something.

disclosure: I registered over there because I wanted to ask the site owner to take my user name off of lisagerry.com. FTLOG. Thank you!!

I've talked to a lawyer. Several actually. Kay had hers on speed dial throughout this debacle.

There are still a few irons in the fire but the bottom line thus far is:

Con funds - Contractually Leeser delivered what she promised. The terms of the arrangement were fairly simple: for $150, attendees got a convention in return. Both parties fulfilled the terms of the contract- we paid, she put on a con. No grounds for civil suit or criminal charges. What she did was certainly unethical, but not illegal.
She will, however, have to face the tax man in April for all these funds, but I doubt tax fraud/evasion is outside the scope of her behavior.

Everything else (from the various other ML moneys to being a midnight notary to the pagan adoption stuff) is pure speculation and hearsay. There is no proof. All we can do is compile the information and hand it over to the authorities (LAPD, FBI, etc), but I'm not sure small time fleecing like this will be a big priority for them.

The IRS will be our biggest friend because the money does have to be accounted for here, especially since Leeser established a non-profit and those records are public.

Until then, the Internet court is about all we do have.

You are awesome. I'm going to ETA this and link to it. :D

Hey did Leeser show up at BWP? I couldn't figure out what that message from JTF was or where it even showed up originally?

And could you do me a favor and let kays know most of us here were really pulling for her to get her ads even though the OMG SHE DID WOT WITH $11k thing was our first reaction here. Her comment about getting f_w'd made me want to hug her.

I'm actually e-mailing her now and will let her know. She's a tough cookie and, god love her, she's considering several PSA-esque efforts to help thwart future Leeser-driven schemes and some other very smart maneuvers to cut her off from current and future marks as well.
And I have access to some mainstream media outlets in which this whole might see the light of day.
As for the Leeser spotting, there was a guest on earlier lurking in the Missing Money thread with an ISP number *very* close to hers. JTF gambled it was her (and I think he was right) and posted the "welcome" on that thread.

Someone brought this up in a comment to one of the earlier reports, but I haven't seen it mentioned since. IIRC, Kays was able to determine that the actual total cost of the ads was $10,025, and she told Leeser she could keep the remaining $75, or something to that effect. However, $11,0000 minus $10,025 is $975, not $75. If Leeser is making a thousand-dollar profit off this, that sucks.

The printing was $900 iirc.

Thanks, so the figure I'm remembering was just the amount payable to Kim's company? That makes sense.

Yes. It does sort of work out on paper. I think Sleezer did use the cash for her own purposes and then had to scramble to make the payments to the ad agency--guessing she did it on a credit card even though she claims it was a debit card.

Has anyone actually seen the 501(c)3 letter? Did the hotel request a copy of it, for example, so that they would not have to charge sales tax? I ask because filing for tax-exempt status is a pain in the ass and Leeser doesn't strike me as someone who would want herself on IRS radar anyway.

It's not a 501c3. It's a mutual benefit trust and subject to some taxes. We're still researching what this means. But I do know that she didn't get it til June 25, 2008 and it's good for a year. No clue if it's retroactive.

Well, that bites, then. A mutual benefit corporation isn't subject to the same regs as charitable orgs and (assuming she registered as a *private* MBC) just about the only people who can protest financial management are "members." I believe that such an org is supposed to keep lists of members and have a specified board or committee structure for governance. I wonder who she listed.

I believe that, date wise, they go by the date the complete application was filed. This is the case in most IRS applications - so long as I have (in good faith) submitted a complete application for non-profit status, for example, I am eligible to apply for a grant only awarded to non-profits. The idea is that the public shouldn't be disadvantaged because the IRS is slow.
