The Eclipse (Heroes Spoilers)
Well, the wank presaged here has come to be. If you're a Heroes fan who hasn't seen the latest episode, tread carefully.
On Monday night's episode, Sylar killed Kristen BElle. Oh, but not until after they had sex. The sylarelle community on LiveJournal starts up a rant post explicitly for this occasion, where fans of the Sylar/Elle ship get their emotional outbursts on in a big way.
Lest you start to believe that LiveJournal is the center of the internet (what? you mean it isn't?) there is more wank to be found elsewhere. E!Online's blog makes a Heroes post entitled "That Did Not Just Happen--Right?", where they sort of summarize the events of the episode. The post ends with:
"Now, let's discuss: Can you live with a dead Elle? Post your feelings about this seemingly tragic turn of events in the comments!"
For the next 299 comments, people wail, rend their garments, and gnash their teeth; or else express optimism that Sylar may go back to his sexy, serial killing ways, and that writers may dispense with all their awful, contrived plot points.
Speaking of the writers, one of them keeps a blog where he posts weekly. (Apparently he's a writer/producer/director.) Anyway, people are using his latest post as a sounding board for viewership flounces. So many viewers are done with this show, you guys.
Last but not least, there's this thread at TwoP where more people express their thoughts of yaoi Sylar/Elle ship, and whether or not it's really sunk.</cut>
ETA: And the latest episode, Sylar finally got around to torching Elle's body. Good times had by all!
