The Russet Doom Saga, Part III
Lady Sybilla put out another press release. She also showed up at the Twilight Lexicon again, since that went so well the last time. (When the formatting gets hard to read, check it here.)

After her Wikipedia article was deleted (you can go to the Russet-Noon webpage for more information), Lady Sybilla edited the shit out of the Russet Noon Fanhistory page all by her lonesome (despire Laura Hale asking around on Bebo whether anyone else had anything to contribute).

And in case your blog entry about the whole affair shows up there, I'm sorry. Lady Sybilla farmed the Russet Doom Supplementary Links Collection and changed my format a little to make the attention seem less wholly negative.

Oh also I put together an entry in my journal with links to screencaps and transcriptions and things, for quick and easy reference.

They ran out of room or just don't get the formatting, and attached bolded text to potato-head's last response. The snark was good while it lasted.

Did anyone see this on the FanHistory page?

The domain russet-noon.com was registered on March 3, 2009 by people who disliked the book. They would eventually post a copy of the deleted Wikipedia article and congratulate Wikipedians for deleting the article. They said in regards to that situation:

It then reprints what Syb's put on the page herself and lists the address/contact info for AV Para.

I'm just... boggling and baffled. Syb created that site herself. Y/y?

Yeah, bad info there, possibly vandalism. The first version of the page was praising the book and had all sorts of Amazon referral links, but not much info about the book itself, and no internal links, which was really odd.

But boggling and baffling? Yes. No matter what, yes.

Remember about five pages ago, that bit about Smeyers being sued for plagiarism?

The part about halting production is false.. but the lawsuit is real unless MSNBC is getting punk'd or something.

Although the article calls it a "reported lawsuit", which is kinda weird. Can't something like that be verified in a fairly straightforward manner?

I just posted the same link in with the original thread on this, for archival purposes.

Yeah, it says "as some outlets reported" which is Journalese for I fail at checking sources but it made MSNBC in a context that suggests it wasn't entirely ignored by media. Therefore, it's a lot closer to being true than it was before.

Only a little more truthiness to go and we'll have a Non Internet Lawsuit!

MSNBC can be a very reactionary, we'll-check-the-facts-later news source. They were among the first to misreport the facts on Heath Ledger's death. :P

I'm pretty sure it at least has to be written, so Smeyers and crew can provide it as evidence. Written and probably in active pursuit of publishing or actually printed; otherwise they'd really just be going, "Well, she said she was going to write it!"
