The Russet Doom Saga, Part III
Lady Sybilla put out another press release. She also showed up at the Twilight Lexicon again, since that went so well the last time. (When the formatting gets hard to read, check it here.)

(Fanhistory links are all nofollow.)

After her Wikipedia article was deleted (you can go to the Russet-Noon webpage for more information), Lady Sybilla edited the shit out of the Russet Noon Fanhistory page all by her lonesome (despire Laura Hale asking around on Bebo whether anyone else had anything to contribute).

And in case your blog entry about the whole affair shows up there, I'm sorry. Lady Sybilla farmed the Russet Doom Supplementary Links Collection and changed my format a little to make the attention seem less wholly negative.

Oh also I put together an
entry in my journal with links to screencaps and transcriptions and things, for quick and easy reference.

Characters don't belong to authors. Authors don't create characters.

Oh bullshit.

I do think I have seen this type of argument before. I seem to recall some Inu-Yasha otakin claiming that Rumiko Takahashi never created the character or the story, and that Inu-Yasha on the Astral Plane told her his story and she transcribed it for him before the person became his avatar or something like that. I remember the Otakin getting dogpiled for it.

I don't recall where I'd seen it though. :(

[info]out_bottle
2009-04-17 05:47 am UTC (link)
1) She will never post anything but "excerpts" of Russet Noon. Why should she write it when she can just write about writing about it?

2) She will at some point claim that all college educated fanfic writers are lying. (Seriously, does she not know any writers/fen in RL? Are ALL her contacts on the interwebz?)

3) She will post another "Press Release"!

Place yer bets!!!

Does the Shared Mind know the Hive Vagina?
[info]bacon_lover
2009-04-17 06:22 am UTC (link)
Maybe that's where the Hive Vagina's thinking goes on. We just need more community body parts, and we've got a whole person.

Her points would look less bat-shit if she wrote Potato Famine while secluded in a cave, never having seen Twilight before. The trouble is, she "channelled" from the Universal Mind after reading S.M.'s books. That's not occult wisdom, that's grade school cheating.

The origin of all characters is the Shared Mind, the only mind that truly exists. . . We all share in this Universal Mind. . . The mind of authors is the same as ours. We have access to the same mind as the Hollywood giants do.

At least she's not going on about not being compensated for writing her ginormous fanfic any more. That tee'd me off too much the first time.

Bitch, I wrote (literally) one million words of fanfic, including one fic that was twice as long as most novels. Nobody paid me for it, and I didn't expect them to.

Shut up.

With apologies to My Chemical Romance
(Anonymous)
2009-04-17 08:16 am UTC (link)
She moves with erudition through the web sites,
but her knowledge of the fans severely lacks.
Her bids for understanding always fall flat
'cause we find that what she's missing
is all connection to the faaaacccttsss!

She gave us...

Wank, wank, gallons of the stuff
She gave us all that we can read,
but she hasn't done enough.

She gave us wank, wank, waannnkk!
Let's hope that this one's not another dud.

An educated author, she assures us,
every day displays her talent more and more.
Admittedly, however, her act grows stale,
as we slowly lose interest
in this great attention whhhhoooorrrre!

Yet still there's...

Wank, wank, barrels of the stuff.
She just keeps on going,
though we have had enough.

She gave us wank, wank, waannnkk!
And now it seems we've Carl Jung to thank.

Compromise: ask SMeyer if you could pwetty pwease borrow her shit a la Star Wars, CSI novels, etc., (someone from ONTD made this comment about published fanfiction. I didn't think of them that way, but if anyone has nething to add or elaborate on why those novels are/aren't fanfic, have a go at it) and go from there. If she says yes, do it. If she says no, DON'T PROFIT from it wtf.

Our minds are all one single ocean of shared memories, fantasies, dreams, nightmares and visions.

This talk of ocean hive minds reminds me of the end of Neo Genesis Evangelion where everyone turned into orange tang. Sadly figuring out NGE is easier then figuring out Lady Sybilla here.

Then again she was talking about Jacob being an omni-shape shifter in the last wank so maybe she means the shared mind is the Great Link from DS9. Either way it involves aliens with no good intentions for Earth and I'm scared.

Also there's been an awful lot of ST references in the comments, maybe there is a hive mind.
