Yes, there was a lot of that, wasn't there? But I think for at least a few folks it was the result of confusion and shock at the unexpected venom of the post.

A couple of my friends initially responded with a (mature -- not "OMG I FAIL AT FANGIRLING YOU") confusion/sadness/desire to help if possible. Because they really liked her writing and they were sort of blindsided.

And then the Flounce Shock wore off and they went, "Wait, WTF?"

Their sympathy evaporated really fast. They can't have been the only ones, I think.

at first I was shocked and given the pregnancy thing, my first response was O poor u *pets*

but then I realized that she'd told me to kiss her ass after I didn't comment on her sga fic cuz i came for spn but then it all disappeared. and it evaporated-- i felt like people calling her on her entitlement, plus ljfriend=/=friend, were totally right. but i felt uncomfortable supporting confrontation anonymously, and it woulda been weird to use my lj name to take back the o poor u. Flounce Shock--that's it exactly! with a very short half-life.

The funny thing is, I think I've read that writer's work (I lurk in SGA fandom). If I remember her stories correctly, she's an excellent writer. No denying it. However, she is clearly also incredibly spoiled, and from what I remember of her, she didn't do what I think (as a fanfic writer myself) is a courteous thing to do, which is to respond to the enthusiastic comments people left her about her stories. I may be wrong about that, but if not? Let's just say I won't be commenting on her fics at all in the future.

	I liked some of it, especially when I needed a h/c fix, but the way she projected on Rodney's character was really embarrassing after a while. He became a pretty obvious Mary Sue for her issues. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Hey, different anon from above, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents.

Even though your point has some validity, you could say the same about nearly every fanfic writer if you look... It may have gone just a tad overboard in her case towards the end, but:

- she is clearly aware of it
- nearly 50% of all active fanfic writers share this issue without actually being able to write as well as SardonicSmiley

And the bottom line?

If you liked her fic, it's still available. If you dislike it, no one is forcing you to read it.

But regarding her last post: this is the problem with social networks vs. archives because we are all human, so explosions like that can happen far too easily. Remember that she is actually very young, something that is difficult to remember when you read her fics which are very well written with a very adult voice.

I would estimate she is only about 22-23, and at nearly twice her age I am capable of reacting just as emotionally at times. I am just old enough and wary enough not to do it publicly, so no one can point and laugh. Oh and posting anonymously helps too...

Every five seconds Rodney was falling over and scraping his knee so that Sheppard could run up and craddle him in his big strong arms and kiss his boo boo better. If that wasn't fic becoming My Parents Didn't Hug Me Enough As a Child therapy, then I don't know what is. That of course was followed up by People Were Mean to Me In High School therapy fic where Rodney's boyfriend protects him from the mean bullies.

If Rodney had been more OOCed and projected on Sheppard would have spent all his time running around getting feminine hygene products and asprin for Rodneyia's monthly cramps.

That's why sometimes not getting comments on your fic is a good thing.

	ahaha, I would like to deny it, please! She is a TERRIBLE writer, her stories are boring, her characters are OOC, and she doesn't know one end of a sentence from the other. Her fic is some of the worst in SGA fandom, and I have never ever understood why so many people are into her. Good riddance, really. Less flotsam floating around sga_noticeboard with her gone. I think what bothers me the most is the attitude in her reply to the last poster. the poster, seekergeek, says she's glad she got to download her favorite of the writer's fics, and the writer says, in effect:

"I wish I'd deleted it sooner" - in other words, wish you hadn't been able to save any of your favorite fics?

Major "fuck you" to her OWN FANS.

And I'm sorry - I do feel entitled. I don't happen to think that a creation, once released to the world, belongs exclusively to the creator. It also belongs to the people that love it. That's why it's risky. Creators can be arrogant (witness SGA, the show) - but the creators of the show never took away what they already gave us.

I for one am glad she's gone. She's one of those writers who puts their own issues on Rodney making him into a wmimpy little baby who needs to be coddled and protected from the big bag world. Who seems to think that no one is allowed to EVER say ANYTHING the slightest bit mean or negative to or about Rodney because it might hurt his poor little feelings. Who acts as though he's the innocent victim of everyone else's bullying. Who basically says that low self esteem and insecurity excuses all bad behavior.

Rodney is an arrogant obnoxious ASS and he does NOT need defending by anyone. He can take care of himself and his feelings aren't being hurt every time someone tells him to shut the fuck up. HE NEEDS TO BE TOLD TO SHUT UP SO THAT HE DOES HIS FUCKING JOB!
