My concubines are lame. Drown them all!
SGA ficcer is not getting the acclaim she says she deserves. So she is going to delete her LJ. Her 560 "friends" are not fawning enough so what's the point?!

There are at least 60 comments on her epic fic's last two chapters now. I'm too lazy to figure out how many there were before she flipped out. Also she posted the last chapter only yesterday.

And the mea culpas pour in--three pages of "I'm sorry/I suck/Plz don't go."

And she is finally called on her tantrum.

So, here's the thing, I'm really not a happy-go-lucky, love-everyone type of person. I identify heavily with Rodney McKay. This should tell everyone something about my personality.

My behavior is justified because I'm just like that character you like!!!1

Do we have a term for that brand of logic yet? I see it aaaall the time around House M.D. fandom.

There should be one. I believe Freetheelves2 (http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Freetheelves2) used the same excuse for her psychopathic behaviour, in her case she was ~just like Nathan~.

Not implying that Nathan marries people on the astral plane. She justified her bitchiness towards her friends, and how she sent her minions after a perceived enemy, by saying "I'm just like Nathan! And Nathan is loved by Peter! So I'm a-okay. :D :D :D"

Better, it is just like a character that she takes great pleasure in torturing, mutilating and generally driving insane.

Which makes me wonder: does she beat Rodney up because she wants to be so beaten up? (and usually made into a dark, unforgiving, dangerous bastard, to boot)

I understand, I really enjoy seeing my favorite characters hurt, too, in canon or fic. But on the other hand, I don't identify with my favorite character. The logic behind torturing the character you think you're most like... yeah. *scratches*

I think it's so that everyone else will fawn over them. Sort of like teenage suicide fantasies ("And then everyone will come to the funeral and the priest will talk about how I was great and they were mean to me and totally didn't deserve me and they will ALL BE SORRY!").

I've seen that in House fandom, too. Someone says something rude, someone else objects, and the first someone then says, "I'm just like House, lol." No, you little insect; House would verbally flay you to the bone faster than you could say, "Y U SO MEEN?!?"

I'm thinking probably every fandom has its own version of this. In the Discworld fandom, there was this girl who justified being a snarky bitch to everyone because she was JUST LIKE GRANNY WEATHERWAX SO THERE.

Everyone in SGA fandom identifies heavily with Rodney McKay. Hell, the Stargate PTB identify heavily with Rodney McKay.

He's like the go-to guy for character identification in SGA.

I don't identify with any of the characters, especially not McKay. He annoyed me far too much. There was no Cordelia type character so I was out of the running.
