Who knew people could wank so much over pixels?
So Gaia Online released a new set of items this week. These items became popular pretty much instantly, as a large majority of them were cosplay-related. However, Gaia released them as "RIGs", which means that you have to buy another item, use it, and then hope you get the item you want. That, or you have to shell out quite a bit of internet gold in the marketplace to get them, and since the market is basically run on supply and demand and the most popular items also have the lowest drop rates you can pretty much guess how much they cost. (Hint: there's seven digits)

This goes over about as well as expected.

Also, one of the developers speaks on the matter, and a moderator backs them up, but that does little to stop the massive amounts of wank.

Also, I'd like to point out that a lot of users on Gaia are under 18, but I waded through all of this to find topics that have only 18+ members or members who did not put their birthdays in their profile doing all of the wanking. Fortunately there's hundreds of topics about all of this, so legal wank isn't impossible to find.
