The PR devils are at it again!
Lifted in part from the anonymice at wank_report, with some added batshittery gleaned from links around my flist:
The SPN J2 tinhats may not have quite reached the same level of insanity as their Domlijah counterparts just yet, but they're trying desperately to win the crown.
Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles were guests at Asylum 2009 this weekend. They both brought their girlfriends (Genevieve Cortese and Danneel Harris, respectively), which prompted a lot of fury, misery, and handwringing right there (and this is just a tiny, tiny sampling--spn_gossip is dripping with girlfriend hate), but more importantly, according to some reports Jensen mentioned that he's getting his own place (he and Jared spent the last year or so sharing a house), and said he loved Danneel and that they had recently adopted a dog together.
Nothing particularly shocking or incendiary, unless your entire world view is shaped by the idea that Jared and Jensen are aggressively gay, deeply in love, and being forbidden from coming out by an evil PR empire (sound familiar)? But if that's your world view, well. Let's look at a sampling, shall we?
First, we have 131408, the comm created to be a "safe place" for J2 tinhats (the name refers to the clothing shout-out Jensen and Jared supposedly gave their faithful--again, sound familiar?).ala-tariel doesn't understand how anyone can be upset by such obvious damage control (screencap in case of deletion):
Come on girls!!! Don't be like that. What they did at the Asylum were merely damage controls. They had to keep anything back in line; that Jensen is actually dating D, there's no Jared/Jensen.
They had to make us to forget about these facts:
1. Jared and Jensen are sharing mortgage
2. Misha's famous question to the boys. He only wanted to help J2. I am sure his experience working as a White House intern made him knows so much about PR evil works.
3. Jensen never attends D's events. Not once.
4. The jealous act Jensen showed during Oz Con, when Misha "doing that thing" to Jared.
PR spies found out about the facts spreading in the net.
At Oz Con, those PR people couldn't do anything. Yet. It's just too late to act. But, they have Asylum Con.
Gosh, I pity all the fangirls, they who believe of J2, who was in Asylum. They practically got nothing important, except lies.
But, we have to stay believe to the our beloved boys! Please!
Who were hurt the most from Asylum? Jared and Jensen. They had to tell lies, consciously, in front of hundreds people and then there are reports, spread around the world.
So, please, please, keep supporting our boys, ya? Don't be brokenhearted. Please. I beg you all to keep thinking positive.

Jensen never mentioned actual name of his gf, never said 'Elta' ["Elta" is Danneel Harris' first name, which tinhats use in the fervant belief that it is a cutting, clever insult] - and we discussed and stressed it many times. now he did it. Why? Coz PR people are here among us and they decided to Ńorrect this fact. so i won't be suprised when Jensen will be made to attend one of her events very soon.

i feel so sorry for them. it must be very hard to lie about this thing between them esp. in the front of each other. no wonder they were separated when Jensen had to tell stories about 'his' new puppy and mention Elta's name.

griva-x agrees:I've started follwoing this *circus* closely only last summer (oh, the happy days! :)) but already for these months I see an amazing *pattern* how every pic/piece of news that proves J2 are real, is followed by a pic of *gf* etc etc...Rumors are easy to plant in inet, some people believe *anything*, just like they believe anything they tell us on TV... Grow a brain already, if you dont trust your gut and dont see what's under your nose! (this is not directed at you, it's just an exclamation I have been repeating recently when my blood started to boil after the Oz and Aylum).And

Jensen Ackles made us that way! and SPN Fandom: daring to choose insanity as a way of life and who apparently wants nothing more desperately than to become the new MsAllegro, single-handedly keeping Jensen and Jared alive with her love and light, also believes that her and her friend's posts and comments on the subject are having a huge, direct effect on Jared and Jensen's lives:I think in light of what happened, it might be good to lockdown. I'd rather go underground if it will take pressure off of the boys. Obviously a lot of their stress comes from what is on the Internet about them. There's a reason Jared said, "I hate the Internet." This makes me so sad I can't even.
jameserin thinks the whole thing is just one more proof that Jensen and Jared are a couple and wishes people would use common sense and realize that everything Jensen and Jared actually do and say in public is a meticulously constructed lie (screencap of post with both comments). susannaheanes has a bit more crazy to impart, explaining Jensen and Jared owe her the truth so she can support them properly, and that if they don't want to admit they're gay, they should least stop lying about being straight (this is actually closer to sane than I think we've ever seen from her, though the batshit shines through loud and clear through all the protestations, particularly in light of her comments that if Jensen and Jared aren't gay and a couple, their friendship proves they are homophobes who are oppressing gay people) (screencap):Personally? This is just my opinion so please just take it as that, but I think they're happiest when they're together; and this is based on the preponderance of the evidence. And I don't think anyone should place limits on that - except them. Where EVER those limits are. Only Jensen & Jared know what those are. But there are those of us out here who would kind of like to know, if only to SUPPORT THEM. We don't need details, but we'd really, REALLY like the truth. I mean, the girls are awesome, and all that - but if the girls are just friends and not girlfriends - GREAT. WE'LL STILL SUPPORT THEM. WE'LL SUPPORT ALL FOUR OF YOU. HONESTLY.
And if they really, really don't want to SAY? Well, then STOP SAYING ALREADY. Seriously. Lying will be hard to forgive. It's better to have NO information than deliberately INCORRECT information.
I love them for who they are, what they do, how hard they try, how exceptional they are. Really. We all know how far these two are going to go. Can you see Jared at 40? Jensen at 45? Holy crap - I can hardly stand to think about it, the very idea of how awesome they're gonna be then makes me literally faint. Honestly, do we really GIVE a crap if they are gay or straight or celibate? No, we really don't. What we do care about is whether or not they're happy and whether they each have what they need mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically, and if there's anything we out here in la-la land can do to help out.
