Real Person Fic is not welcome!

(unless Hollywood has already fictionalized real people for your amusement... then it's okay)

We do not, however welcome Real Person Fic or stories featuring true historical figures, unless featured in some form of entertainment (movie, etc.).

Wait, wait, I'm trying to figure out how this works.

Maybe they mean like in "Titanic" or "Pearl Harbor" or something, where it's based on a real story, but with thrown-in romances?

It's hard to tell exactly what they mean, since it's worded so poorly.

So, a (*shudder*)Pocahontas II fic is okay then?

Since they have to operate in movie canon [to make RPS 'okay' for themselves], I wonder if they have little wars over which movie version of a person is best. TombstoneEarpp vs Wyatt EarppEarpp and such.

That would be friggin' hilarious.

Actually, this list is for historical slash based on fictional characters from movies, shows, novels, etc. - for example, the Patriot. Though I have to admit that she worded it in such a way that it looks like she doesn't condone RPS, the list owner does like RPS and in fact writes her own.

Wasn't the guy in the Patriot based on a real guy? 0r was the tie tenuous enough to count as still fictional?

Anyways, that makes a lot more sense, and sounds like an interesting list, except now I'm thinking of "F Troop" slash and IT WON'T GO AWAY STOP IT BURNS.

Very loosely based. Ban Tarelton lived through the War, and went home to England. As far as anyone knows, he didn't burn down any churches filled with civilians. No one knows whether his ass was a good as Jason Isaacs'.

OK, now that I know whose list this is, I understand what's going on. She doesn't, in fact, have anything against RPS at all, and in fact writes it herself. I think the intent here, is that this particular list not be for RPS unless it's tied somehow to TV or movies or books, etc.

So, this isn't so much wanky, but just a matter of her meaning being misunderstood.

I think it's like you can slash Henry II/Thomas Becket based on the movie Becket provided you use dialogue, etc, but if you were to go haring off and write Henry Does Paris (all of Paris, jades, whores, courtesans, noblewomen, sheep and little boys) it'd be out of line.
