The Not So Triumphant Return of Victoria Bitter, aka thanfiction, part the third
Lost in the comments of the last post, [info]julian_black tells us that idiomagic has spit out the kool-aid.

The evil twin is yesterday's news, people. Now there's an UNDEAD SHAMAN-WIZARD.

Yeah, I'll repeat that: UNDEAD SHAMAN-WIZARD.

I don't even know. Does it top channeling fictional hobbits? You decide.

ETA: HOLD THE PHONE: UNDEAD SHAMAN-WIZARD EMAILS HERE! All personal info redacted, of course. Thanks [info]bacon_lover!

Also, idiomagic would like us to know that She never drank the kool-aid. She was *cue dramatic music* THE MOLE!

I dunno, there's a reason Deep Throat's identity was never revealed...

Reminder: please use male pronouns when referring to VB/thanfiction, and leave the transfail in the other post, thanks.

Sharktopus. SHARKTOPUS. Oh god, I think they finally topped Mansquito.

Never mind Sharktopus, what the devil is this UK show called Paradox that's mentioned in the comments? Because other than Alice, I don't watch SyFy anymore.

*has found the UK isn't actually afraid of cracky sci fi with dramatic bits thrown in and is gleeful*

Paradox is FlashForward except things actually happen in it.

If you can get past the badly written and not particularly solidly acted first episode - and the "Dude, I don't have the memory of a fruitfly. Seriously" aspect - it actually turns out pretty well in a slightly addictive I-know-it's-crap-but-I'm-enjoying-this-too-much kind of way.
Which makes me sad, because the ratings were relatively poor so I doubt there will be another series.

I never saw FlashForward so he.

Damn it. I'd like to like a show that has another series. *sigh* I mean, besides Who and luckily Primeval (yay!). Ahem. But I'm used to pretty bad first episodes. Seems standard for American shows. Hmm, shall watch it anyway. I love the short British seasons. Makes catch up muuuch easier.

I'm trying to convince myself that the BBC might secretly really like the show and have already given the go ahead for another series. I mean, it was only five episodes long (rather than the usual six) so they were obviously totally planning on a Torchwood style five nights a week thing at some point in the slow period next year, but they brought it forward, and so had to put it on weekly, because it was too amazing to leave on the shelf!

Or not.

I need more, if not actually good, decently cracky sci fi television.

Hey, I live in the land of denial. It's a fun place. You can keep Paradox alive and well. I wouldn't be the first time a show's been brought back. *points to icon*

Crack sci fi seems to exist in Primeval. Oh, and apparently this week's Who. *nods*

Awesome! *Makes list of lost tv shows*

I only really dip into Primeval and Dr. Who. I find Primeval more enjoyable because David Tennant's Who annoys me a lot. I'm only watching this week's Who because Tennant is leaving.

Oh, yeah. The rate of TV shows you have to.

*high fives* I'm not a Tennant Doctor fan either. I dip rather randomly, like, say, if Donna's around to knock that self-important ego down a bit. I'm watching cause he's leaving and because Lightning Monster is apparently back.

And Primeval is pure crack so I can't help put love and adore it. I mean, come on...dinosaur twins named Sid and Nancy that acts like a puppy. Who wouldn't love that? I bought the 3rd series from Amazon but it was scratched, so I had to send it back. But! I got the first two at B&N earlier today. I kind of love their audio commentaries.

Catherine Tate annoys me on a molecular level for some reason, so I haven't seen many (any?) Donna episodes.

Oh, I just love Donna. She's willing to say to the Doctor, "You stop acting like a prat" in more verbose language. She's so brilliant and keeping him from thinking every girl in creation wants to jump in Ten's pants. It was lovely to have a best mate and not a fangirl companion.

Oh Ten definitely needed Donna (she didn't mind kicking Ten's ass when needed) after the totally mopefest that was Rose leaving/getting stuck in the alternate dimension plus Martha getting practically ignored because of Rose.

Don't forget Martha's utter crush that made me want to bang my head into wall. "Dear writers, not everyone has to lust after him." Which is why I loved and adored Donna. No need for all that drama and love/lust/crush debate stuff.

I felt so bad for Martha, she was so besotted with Ten and he was all "ROSE ROSE ROSE". So when she (Martha) came back and was engaged/had a good job and had moved on with her life.. I was much happier.

She really was, but I never understood the persistent "oooh, Doctor!" I mean, she just met him. Then again, Nine was infinitely more interesting than non-Concertaed Ten.

Ooh, just remembered, if you haven't seen it/heard of it look up Misfits. It's a very modern British take on the superhero genre. (But not very family friendly)

This one is going to get another season.

A British flister recced it. I think I will give it a try. I don't mind not family friendly. I don't have a family.

(Also, Flanigan has a beautiful rump.)

That he does, but the backside belongs to the person above. (text not aimed at you)

Gotta love Redemption Part 2. Five seconds of gratuitous arse shot. Wha'd'ya mean, "it was about the gate"?

Met him recently, and he's filled out a little bit. Still not like average 6ft man filled out though.

Heh, just got distracted into imdb-ing Juliet Landau. Order of thoughts:
Hey, I saw that movie (Haunted Echoes) recently. It was shit.
She plays the voices of the little sisters in Bioshock. How cool!
I totally forgot she was in an episode of Parker Lewis Can't Lose.
Aw, young Corin.

Okay, good. He's not scary thin anymore. I actually thought he was working on a Steven King Thin Man remake.

I have never seen Haunted Echoes...or Bioshock and I didn't know she was on Parker Lewis. But I know she was crazy crazy crazy as Dru.

In Haunted Echoes she was a slightly mystical leaning friend, in Bioshock (a video game) she was a bunch of slightly nutso children, and in PLCL she was a weird, vampiric type girl.

Not much type casting going on, no siree. XD

None what-so-ever. Quite a variety of characters, there. She did play a psychotic ex-wive in some Lifetime movie awhile back. Ah ha! IMDB says it was "Fatal Reunion."
