cake or death?
The swan song of one [info]thanfiction aka Andy Blake/VB, etc. He is leaving the internets forver. Maybe. If he doesn't die from his mysterious heart condition--he's going to college. Yes, sir. But he is unlikely to ever give up the cancer sticks.

n.b.: Please use the pronoun he when refering to Andy or face the wrath of pretty much everyone, but especially those who can ban your ass along with the rest of you.

eta: I didn't bother posting a link to Turi's reaction post because it was even more boring than Andy's brave farewell. But some sockpuppet comments to defend Andy.

"These do not exist other than the usual complaints about a failed romance (between he and luvscharlie)."

WAIT WOT? All that frothing from luvscharlie was heart break? D:

Oh goodie, I missed a lot of the wank in December. So he's enrolling in college because he has six weeks to live? Nice.

It's interesting you say that. He often used to make posts that he needs to bulk up for he is underweight, and he has started some martial arts regimen (I forget which one) to keep himself fit. And I was all like, huh, your heart permits you to exercise for up to an hour at a time? Oooookay!

It's the special kind of heart condition - all the romanticized drama of "I could die any day now, I swear!" and no actual impact on his health.

I know right? I'm perfectly healthy apart from being unfit and having endometriosis and I gotta charge up and sleep lots after exercising. That's really nothing in the chronic illness scheme of things, and I pay for it.

Heart condition? Hour of exercise? Martial arts regimen? I don't think so.

He should probably go to a community college then. No sense attending a pricey school when you're not going to get your money's worth!

OTOH, if he's dead, he won't have to pay back his financial aid.

What I love is how he's BAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWing about how he has like no money and no skills and no anything and so on.

By any standard he's pretty pathetic as self-described. So why do these "daydians" of his buy into that Supreme Commander crap? Is he that invested in his imaginary world that he'll see it all right through to the pseuicide?

The mind boggles.

I don't quite know that myself. I was on his f-list for a while. I found him very bright, charming and witty.

To be honest, I thought some of his shorter stories are lovely as well as his older, natural media art (definitely none of his digital rubbish!) I even commissioned and bought some pieces (and yes, I did get them).

He was a very attractive personality. But then he started singing a different tune about April last year, and started spurning a lot of his older friends and gathered a new coterie. It was odd. And he made some weird posts that gave me quite the creeps besides personally offending me.

I remained on his f-list up till the time he cut me out and then I defriended him right back :)

For some reason a lot of people really buy into the "I'm such a sad excuse for a human being, pity me" by deciding "Oh, humility! They must be a great person!" It's bizarre and sorta disturbing. Especially since this post is all "MEEEEEEE~MEMEMEMEMEME."

It's like being Neville - poor Neville is so underappreciated/undervalued versus that evil fucktard Harry Potter. Neville is shy and demure and so is thanfiction.

Except for the part where Neville is kickass awesome and thanfiction is a sad excuse of a human being with delusions of grandeur.

It's because of his horse, you see.

... no, wait, a horse requires a year of college. For six weeks... "If it hadn't been for my Breyer model horse, I wouldn't have spent those six weeks in college before I died and was reborn in another fandom under another name."?

Oh, I think he's very intelligent in a lot of ways-- clearly learns fast, can read people well. Doesn't know when to quit and probably has some mental issues that complicate matters, but those aren't really 'intelligence' lapses, at least not in terms of book learnin'.

Yeah, being a douchebag doesn't preclude being intelligent. If anything, the latter makes the former easier.
