The swan song of one [info]thanfiction aka Andy Blake/VB, etc. He is leaving the internets forver. Maybe. If he doesn't die from his mysterious heart condition--he's going to college. Yes, sir. But he is unlikely to ever give up the cancer sticks.

n.b.: Please use the pronoun he when refering to Andy or face the wrath of pretty much everyone, but especially those who can ban your ass along with the rest of you.

eta: I didn't bother posting a link to Turi's reaction post because it was even more boring than Andy's brave farewell. But some sockpuppet comments to defend Andy.

"These do not exist other than the usual complaints about a failed romance (between he and luvscharlie)."

WAIT WOT? All that frothing from luvscharlie was heart break? D:

Hasn't school already started for the term/semester? I can't see him getting into college before reaching his expiration date.

I think its for next year, because he has to pass his GED and sort out his FAFSA. Of course I like that his friend and possible ID forger M_oquinn recently twittered about getting her FAFSA in order. But Turi said he already spent some time in college or at least alluded to "college years" so who the hell knows.

Not for all schools. My university in Virginia, for example, begins classes this coming Tuesday. He'd likely have to have been enrolled already, if such was the case though.

Or some colleges have a "winter term" in January and then start up their regular classes in Feb. My brother in law works at a community college that does that.

And there's the quarter system. When I change schools, I'll be on that instead of semester. Four versus two (possibly three) means that the times are off from "normal." I think it's in late March here for Spring Quarter.

Most of my college education was with schools that use the quarter system and you're right, Spring starts about mid to late March. Though it tends to be three quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring) for a full year with the Summer more or less being optional whether you want to take classes during that quarter or not.

See, the college I went to before (which I'll be going back to in the fall) was the same way but I tend to take summers just to get hell out as soon as possible. This semester I'm taking five classes so I won't have to take any this summer, though. I want one off before starting my vet tech degree. The half semester length is useful for classes other than science and math (for me) really. Not as much busy work.

Maybe he just really loves buying the stationery required for the course? I know that's my favourite bit of starting a school term.
