I'm going to have to go against the grain here and vote that Andy'll show up in Star Trek fandom, if he's not there already. The cosplay opportunities are PRIMO, and it's full of newfans and old fans both.

I cannot claim ANY KNOWLEDGE of this person, for all I know they've never heard of Thanfiction or anyone like him and have zero connection. But I recently followed a link to a Trek author named Penbrydd, who not only writes Harry Potter (with original characters, no less, listed in great and loving detail), but also has a rather distinctive--and familiar--style. He's 'taking commissions' to make you original artwork icons, or to 'be your Cyrano De Bergerac' and write sonnets for you to give your loved one.

Description: In love with a beautiful girl (or some classy bloke), but have no idea what to say to that person? Tell me a bit about 'em, and I can knock off a sonnet that will say it all for you. I can do either Shakespearean or Petrarchan sonnets, although I write more Shakespearean, because they tend to be more popular. Sonnets do not come with guarantees of effectiveness, but they're a whole lot more original and exciting than greeting cards.

Honestly, if I hadn't just been distracting myself with the VB/Amy Player/Thanfiction saga, it probably wouldn't have rung too many bells, but is it possible that this dude's another alternate persona? I'd ask on my LJ, but I figure people here are more likely to know.

It just all seemed so very ANDY. Please tell me I'm totally wrong? Trek does not need Thanfiction. NO fandom needs Thanfiction.

	You know this, and it makes total sense, but to someone like Thanfiction (whose entire "Irishness" is, I believe, invented whole cloth) would that be apparent? I'm probably slandering some poor Welsh shmo who just wants to be left alone to write bad sonnets and answer Star Trek kinkmeme prompts, aren't I. There were just so many similarities! 	Yeah. The "punchy" writing style seems pretty indicative. Compare it to the latest daydverse entry and I think it will indeed 'feel' similar. Looks like thanfiction is already gearing up for the pseuicide. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	Yeah, the pic is totally different, and if there's one thing Andy seems to do consistently, it's using his own pictures. No matter how counterintuitive that might seem! I feel bad, now, like I should redact the whole thing, since I've cast aspersions on this poor fanperson who's just off writing sonnets and things, and is (hopefully) not at all a compulsive con-artist!
