Entry tags:author entitlement, books that should be burned, books/authors, can't escape the screencaps, community: weepingcock, if someone is a bad writer she's a bitch, look how much i don't care, reviews, this was no chicken, writers are often pompous douches

You do realize this means war.
Pop Quiz:

You are R. Malone, a new author who has a book out that is predominately getting reviews in the four to five star range when someone gives your book a review a one or two star. Do you. . .

BONUS WANKERY IN SCREENCAP FORM!!!

Credit given when credit is due: Copypasta directly from sf_drama

ETA:

Edited in some screencaps of my own, and also: HOLY COW WAT. HIDDEN AGENDAS!!

ETA AGAIN:
R. Malone's original message to the reviewer/blogger, as found in a cached search! (sceencap coming if LJ WOULD UPLOAD THE CAP ALREADY. JEEZ.) YAY.
Hey Cyndy,

Why did you downrate Crimson Rose to one star on here and Amazon when you had originally rated it two stars last week? Did you read the book again and decide you hated it more? If so, then why did you read it again? I see you also deleted the comment where you stated that you ‘wished to read the sequel when it comes out, since you read an excerpt and it sounded good.’

I’m finished putting up with jealous bitches like you, Cyndy. I guess if this first book goes to shit thanks to bitches like YOU, that’s perfectly fine. I don’t give a fuck anymore, I really, really don’t.

So far, however, your bullshit hasn’t put a tiny dent in CR’s sales.

Robin

LOL, so many screencaps, IDEK. I almost want to buy Crimson Rose to make my eyes bleed like I know they will but skjdsdjfkhjdfhskdfjhsd LOLOLLLLLLL FOREVER. NO SORRY TO SAY.

MOAR ETA:
Saucy, rawr.

++Sauciness via Weepingcock.

LATE NIGHT ELECTRIC BOOGALOO EDIT:
LOL

I SWEAR IT'S THE WANK THAT KEEPS ON GIVING:

Well, duh, the only reason why everyone hates this book is because everyone jumped on the hate bandwagon. Also, Hitler.

More deleted/screencaping fun.

Some clarification, and burn indeed.

EDIT, YET AGAIN:
And what's a wank without sock-puppetry? God I love this woman. Keep up the crazy, please. The lols are great. Where we're been mentioned.

I'm a little creeped out by the way the author keeps tacking the reviewer's name onto the end of every sentence. As I read her responses I get this scratchy witch-like narrative voice in my head.

What`s weird and creepy is I remember reading another romance novel with almost the EXACT same premise. It was by some author whose name starts with C.

The heroine was engaged to someone else, but the hero, who`s basically an acquaintance of one of her parents (read: at LEAST twelve years older than her, maybe more), has been watching her ever since she was a little girl and was apparently in love with her at least as long, because she reminded him of her mother, who he used to be in love with till she died (I think). So when she`s of age, he essentially kidnaps her, holds her hostage first on a ship, then at some manor-house in Italy, while he rapes her over and over, and then of course she falls in love with him. She actually dumps her fiance (who was easily Jesus compared to the hero) for him. I remember shuddering the entire way through the book, it was a while ago. But, um, it was kind of an improvement on CR I guess, in that the hero certainly didn`t kill the fiance. And he wasn`t a vampire Nazi, just some Regency lord.

...Or maybe worse, since he was a raging asshat the entire way through and didn`t even have the excuse of being one of the soulless undead for it. [/tl;dr]

From this interview:

and then later:

Seems like an odd mistake to make. Anyway, it's certainly a lol-filled interview.

You know I can live with the godawful porn. It's this that made me blink:
When Brandi’s body was whisked away to the morgue, Celia was questioned by the police. Naturally, only an animal could have done such a thing. It was a tragic, but natural occurrence, and no other scenario could possibly explain it.

In Florida being mauled to death by a wild animal when you are locked in your hotel room is a natural occurrence? The tourism board must have a cover up division of epic proportions...

Well, that's one book I definitely won't be reading. (Also, 'forced seduction'? WTF.)

Ms. Malone’s excessively immature reaction to what was actually some very gentle criticism guarantees that she has no future in print other than with vanity presses.

Well, she's a nutcase, sure, but I hope that maybe THE FACT THAT SHE'S A HORRIBLE WRITER might keep guarantee the "no future in print" bit.

Stefan suddenly pulled her close to him, his muscular arms tightly wrapped around her torso. Then he brushed his lips against hers, as an expression of fiery desire abruptly replaced his joviality.

He parted slightly from her, then brushed the strands of her raven hair from her face. He gazed deeply at her, and Rose felt the perceptible sensation of falling; falling into the abyss of his pale blue eyes, and her inability to escape the sinister, luminous orbs. Try as she may, she could not prevent herself from falling even further in love with him…

Oh come on, I learned not to write like this while roleplaying on Gaia.

At last the US has a contender for Ch*ncery St*ne's title. I don't think she'll dethrone the Queen, but I was wondering why the UK domination of the field was going unchallenged.

Bwuh? In that Authorsden screencap the author seems to quote lines the reviewer...uh...never actually wrote.

And slightly related, I AM SICK of this whole "vampire falls in love with girl who looks just like his lost love from 500 years ago" trope.

What is it with vampire novel authors and being batshit insane and/or trying to convince they can write a rape plot that is TOTES ROMANTIC?

Am I the only one who is always like "surely this vampire sex is necrophilia. This right here, this is a young girl being raped by a corpse. Oh god. I need some bleach and wire-wool right now"
