Pyramid Head as a pet. What an image. Now I'm imagining Pyramid Head as a little summonable pet in World of Warcraft. What would his special action be? Would he go up to other critters/pets and hump them till they despawn?

I've learned to just give up on caring about movie adaptations being faithful and embrace them with lots of alcoholic beverages, Dragonball Evolution was amazing this way. I hope these people learn how to do the same someday. :(

WHAT? I LIKE GETTING TO SEE PYRAMID HEAD KILL THINGS ON THE BIG SCREEN, IT IS FUN TO ME! And for once, his scenes wont be totally gratuitous because he's actually in SH2! Woohoo!

Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit when they make new adaptations, even if they're bad? I mean, if you hate them so much, just... Don't watch them. The originals that you love still exist, it's not like your geek hoodie will now be tainted forever. The first movie was by no means perfect, or even particularly good, but you DID get to see people get murdered by some pretty fucked up monsters, and in the end, isn't that what we're all here for? Okay, okay, in all seriousness, I think that though the movie wasn't faithful to the source material, I loved Pyramid Head's updated design, the scene with the Lisa-ish nurse's eyes bleeding was pretty boss, and the look and tone fit the games well. The Otherworld transitions looked so neat!

As an optimist, I'd like to think that after making some mistakes in the first movie they'd be more inclined to stick to the source material, but in the end... It's a video game movie. You're not supposed to think about it or expect a coherent plot, you just laugh at the cheesy dialogue and enjoy a cool visual here and there. Many other mainstream franchises have suffered far worse on the silver screen.

...I actually wasn't hugely impressed with the first Silent Hill movie, even just as a movie, but much less as Silent Hill. However, I didn't wail and scream and carry on like Silent Hill was ruined forever omg! A couple of the games weren't wonderful either, but it's still not ruined forever.

Then again. My view of whether a video game franchise has been ruined yet or not is to compare it to Sonic, so...

Well, now I'm confused. Wasn't the Silent Hill movie one of the very few video game movies that are actually good*? So why is the sequel a bad thing?


*Note: I haven't personally seen it because I never watch horror movies, but all the people I know who watched it said they liked it.

Admittedly I am in the "Pyramid head is James' thing stop trotting him out for every new game like a tarted-up showhorse" camp but the idea of getting so darned passionate about it is just so cringey

Also I thought it was accepted that video game movies are always terribad to the point of being hilarious. Did anyone else see the Hitman movie? Oh lawd.
