But to return to my line of argument, why are the people who do fanfic not putting all that time and work into something that is their own, rather than reheated yesterday's idea-dinners? I'm really baffled by the amount of people I'm seeing who just Do Not Get what fanfiction even is. I don't just go around writing out the exact plot of, say, FMA, because yeah, who the hell would want to read that? It's already been written (drawn?). And retellings of existing fairy tales or popular lit have to bring something new and original to the table to avoid being uninteresting rehashes of the original. In any case, screw putting all that "time and work" into something that is "my own". I don't feel like it. Nyah nyah. And I'm still caught up on her use of "twixt", lmao Post a comment in response: |
