Previously, on LOST
So the final episode of LOST aired, and the one thing that went off as expected is the fandom is in absolute insane shambles; and also huge.

A bit of explanation is required. This season the show had been having instead of flash BACKS, flashes to an "alternate universe" where the plane had never crashed. The finale reveals that this is not an alt universe, but rather a Limbo that the Losties souls created so they could all meet back up together before they moved on to the true afterlife. Everything that happened on the island was real, and happened when they were alive; but this is confusing many people.

The wankers mainly break down like this

a) people who don't get what happened and still think the Island was purgatory/not real
b) People who get what happened and hate it because "there is no afterlife, OMG"
c) people who hate it because it didn't answer their pet mystery
d) people who got it and loved it yelling at everyone else.

There are tons of threads, and more posts, but here are a few highlights.

The End" renders the entire series completely inconsequential
I'm sorry this is complete garbage. And I am not addressing those who
drank the kool-aid and would have loved any plot driven conclusion you could have been spoon fed last night, because it actually wasn't a bad episode - Had Lost actually been about something.

The theory to end all theories
They made a bunch of sh*t up for 5 years, faking it like they had a master plan. And then in season 6, since they had been faking it for 5 years, the only way to end it was to bend us over with no lube and not even the common decency of a reacharound. And what they have proven is there there are a LOT of people who enjoy being bent over with no lube.
That's my theory.

Majority of people loved the final. Haters trying to act like this is not true?

Dedicated Fans of Lost was CHEATED
Look, I can accept the Purgatory angle and the redemption story. I can buy that. But if that was the case, why do you need six seasons to bring this to full circle? if this was simply a story about character development, why not cut out most of the suspense/mystery which contributes nothing to the character development angle.

If you don't understand the ending, it's your fault for not paying attention!

Rant : Island Purgatory Theory is ABC's fault

I had a feeling i'd be let down when I learned JJ is gay

Poll: Did you like or hate the ending? Are you religious or not?

And so on, etc, ad infinitium.

If anyone sees any particularly wanky threads I left out, point me to em and I'll ETA em in.
'"
ETA: This one is just too good to leave out. Sock puppet account pretending to be one of the show's writers.
