Over in Torchwood fandom, msjaybee (best known as one of the authors of the 400+ page "Save Ianto Jones Report") hears a rumor that AfterElton's Michael Jensen (the same guy who was ridiculed by series creator Russell T Davies while interviewing him) might be in the back pocket of Starz (the network airing the new series of TW). She decides to email him about it.

Jensen posts the email in full and refutes the ridiculous accusation in his editorial column (with a CONSPIRACY THEORY banner, too!). He does not give the name of the person who sent him the email, but msjaybee (under the name Jo) shows up in the comments and identifies herself as the author. And she's not happy -- not just because he posted the email, but because they haven't posted a press release with a character/series overview (bonus wank about the press release itself here and here. With RTD you showed commendable restraint and civility. You treated me like a minor criminal. But then I am only a member of AfterElton, not a rich and famous writer. Why should I expect the same consideration that you showed Mr Davies?

My aim in emailing you was to try and find out the truth quietly. Your aim in plastering my words all over AfterElton was to hurt and humiliate me.

Well, think about this one Michael, you are attacking the person who informed you of what was being said about you before it had a chance to go around the Internet. Not exactly grateful are you? If I hadn't contacted you, the first thing you would probably have heard were the sounds of multiple tweets accompanied by the the chimes of copius email arrivals.

I'm afraid, Michael, that stunt with my email may have backfired for now I'm finding posts from people who knew nothing of the alleged AfterElton/Starz connection but know now thanks to your article. And quite a few are convinced that your reaction is so OTT that the allegation must be true.

Way to shoot yourself in the foot Michael. For in the end, you are the one with the reputation to loose; I am but one Jo amongst millions and my comments here will soon be forgotten.
