Pre-Supernatural Wank Party!!
Tomorrow, the sixth season of Supernatural starts on the CW. The summer has certainly not been too quiet in the wank department but expect a mini-splooge tomorrow.

The kickoff?

Jensen Ackles admits in an online interview that he was "not happy" with Dean's direction.

To add to the fangirl's insanity, Jared proceeds to get a character-specific plot point wrong. Clearly, someone was not paying attention!

The comments in the article itself are what you'd expect, complete with Jared vs. Jensen, Sam vs. Dean, Castiel/Dean bromance vs Schweinski Sam/Dean epicness, and an occasional call to calm down and watch the damn season first which are regulary ignored.

The folks in the Dean thread at Television Without Pity are quick to jump into "They're just using us for ratings!" mode.

One of the resident Sam forums also gets in on the fun.

Livejournal is fairly silent right now, but the interview has not been posted to the main comms yet. Will be sure to edit when it does.

But the main punchline can be summed up by a post at the TWoP link:

Poster A: I know I am not going to be watching.
Recapper: You do realize we'll be holding you to this, don't you?

I can still find the funny, even though I'm apprehensive about Sera Gamble taking over the show. I mean, I'm greatly anticipating Jared Padalecki's impending shirtlessness, but I think I'm going to end up missing the days when Dean had more to do than just run around after Sam and be a sidekick. :/

Still--there is a wanksplosion on the horizon. Sam!girls vs Dean!girls! Jared Padalecki's hair vs the world! Castiel fans vs everyone else! I'm making popcorn a cake. And setting it on fire. *glee*

I also agree with others that Kim Manners’ touch is definitely missing.

Oh dude, you can't blame him! Talk about speaking ill of the dead >:|

SPN fandom goes nuts when the series' on, it goes nuts while it's on break, and it goes nuts ahead of the season premier just for good measure. I love that I'm just on the fringes so I can point and LOL.

Man, am I two seasons behind now? I went nuts and watched the first three (or was it four? *lost track*) like a crazy person when I was pregnant, and then I was like, "Meh, keeping up with TV is for people who get sleep!"

I stopped watching after the show got too depressing for words last season. I miss the two brothers on a road trip who just happen to hunt monsters plotline that the show used to have. :(

But thank God the wank is still as entertaining as ever!

The question is, when I actually finish forcing myself to watch the rest of season five, will the anger finally be enough to counteract this bizarre urge to keep watching? (I *think* I keep watching it because of Castiel and SO MUCH META, but that doesn't explain how I made it through season three.)
