Entry tags:fanfic, grudgewank, i'll just put this in my portmanteau, i'm just here for the recipes, mom the other kids aren't playing right!, not good with criticism, she admitted it!, smush smush smush the boys are wanking, tv

If you're a TV character who's lover died in canon, you're never allowed to fall in love again
There once was a soap opera called “As the world turns”
They had a gay couple called “Nuke” (Luke/Noah), then the soap got cancelled but not before Luke ran away with another guy called Reid.

First a lot of people didn't like that Reid destroyed Nuke, but then a lot of Nuke-shippers jumped ship as the new canon pairing became "LuRe" (Luke/Reid).

To be a good little "LuRe" shipper you have to bash Noah and "Nuke" at all times (best in the Douchefest)but you are not allowed to think that after Reid died in canon, Luke is allowed to ever fall in love again.

At least not in fic.

If you write or post fic that has Luke with someone else , you are insulted as stupid. Everybody who doesn't agree is also insulted and called stupid. If you call people too lazy to scroll over fic they don’t like you get banned.
If you like one fic like the next where canon gets ignored, Luke and Reid get married and have lots of kids, you are everyone's friend

yeah, I'm a "Nukie" who loves to see the "lurians" fight among themselves. So what?

I don't like when non-ship fics are posted in shipper communities as well. I don't think there's something wrong with not liking it and having rules that enforce that. It depends on the fic though. If it's completely just about the person and the new relationship then it doesn't belong in the comm, but if it's mainly about the person, his past relationships and oh, by the way he has moved on then it's okay.

Maybe that's the problem? Well it all depends on the maintainers really.

This is a bit of a stretch. It's a shipper community, who's insulting the writer?, and that ban was a warning.

you are insulted as stupid

I think you are confusing being insulted with being told politely to follow the rules of the community.
And banned with got a warning for a blatant trollpost.

At least that's what I got from your links. Come on, if you want to grudgewank, at least dig up links that don't actually contradict what you're stating. Your posting isn't very effective grudgewanking, I'm afraid to say.

I was going to thank you for flat-out identifying yourself as a grudgewanker so that we don't have to go through that whole are-they-or-aren't-they argument in the comments this time, except that, in your case, the grudgewank was so fucking obvious that it was really unnecessary. So... good job, I guess? Go you, get down with your asstastic grudgewanking self, etc. It's like we're having our own little douchefest right here, and you're the douche of honor!

You want to know what bugs me for no good reason? Those pop machines where you can see rows of bottles through the glass front and there are like eight different combinations of buttons you can press in order to get the same pop. It fucks up the decision-making centres of my brain, because it gives them a decision to make and no criteria by which to make it. B-1 through B-8 are all the same pop, so it doens't matter which one I choose and that's the whole problem. I like it when there's only one or two pops left in a particular row because then I can choose that one in an effort to 'empty' it. Otherwise oh god which do I choose?!

Did comments get deleted or something? Because all I'm seeing is people praising the fic but pointing out that it doesn't belong on that comm. Which it doesn't. And as for this:

If you like one fic like the next where canon gets ignored, Luke and Reid get married and have lots of kids, you are everyone's friend

It's a shipper comm for a ship that's been jossed by canon, of course people are gonna ignore canon. Are you, perhaps, new to this whole shipping thing? o_O

Oh, wait:

yeah, I'm a "Nukie" who loves to see the "lurians" fight among themselves. So what?

I don't mind cooking, and I usually enjoy baking, but I hate cleaning the kitchen, and I loathe washing dishes with the fire of a thousand extra-hot suns. Can anyone suggest some good, easy, one-pan-type recipes for me that wouldn't involve a lot of cleanup afterwards?

I'm quite a good cook, but I've just found out that I'm an absolute shite baker. So far I've managed to mess up brownies, muffins and scones. The texture isn't right, or the taste is off or, I dunno, it just looks like someone puked it up. Something goes wrong when I bake.

Do you wankas know any idiot-proof, so-easy-a-kid-can-make-it baking recipes that just cannot go wrong? Any tips/secrets/rules for baking that I really should know about?

Because, seriously, there are tons of recipes in my bookmarks folder I'm dying to try but don't want to mess up again.

IHOP Clone Pancakes
[info]shinysandals
2011-02-24 01:16 am UTC (link)
1½ cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup granulated sugar
¾ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 egg
1½ cups buttermilk*
¼ cup (½ stick) butter, melted

Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

In a separate large bowl, beat the egg with an electric mixer. Mix in the buttermilk and melted butter.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix well until the batter is smooth and no lumps appear.

Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Spray the cooking surface with a coating of nonstick spray and measure ½ cup portions of batter onto the hot griddle. Cook the pancakes for 2 minutes, or until the first side is golden brown, then flip and cook for another 1½ to 2 minutes.

Makes 8 to 9 pancakes.

*If you don't have buttermilk on hand, mix 1½ cups of regular milk with 1½ tablespoons of white vinegar or lemon juice, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
